The RAF drum major at 1-49 and 10-20 is smart as a carrot, excellent ....... but so he should be as the band were preceding QCS who as ever were absolutely the canines testicles.
Regular tubas and french horns, instead of sousaphones and mellowphones, which I've notice with most of the British videos. Any reason why the latter didn't catch on over there? I suppose though, you wouldn't want to arm wrestle one of those tuba players for a pint after the parade...
Sousaphones were used at one point during the 1970,s or 80.s by the bands of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers , but that practice disappeared . It was practical for them at least as they wore blues and berets at that time . Maybe the bandmaster was a rebel of sorts I don't know .

I just watched it back and you can see some ghosting. It was probably because of the rain it somehow caused the ghosting effect on the video, if you watch further on when the HAC trucks go by you can see extra sets of headlights above them.
I have seen that many or almost all the military bands are inspired by Ottoman military band. I am not Turkish and I have no emotional inclination but the honest picture is this.
Probably the crowd bloody annoying especially if your in the parade. The town I used to live in done something like this for switching on the Xmas lights and we always marched ahead of some scouts and they gave them whistles every year and oh my god it was irritating

Recall from viewing 10 years ago the Show has become somewhat shambolic and messy. The Reserve Corps cant even be bothered to walk in formation for example.
How long would you keep tradition and enjoy such parades !! Many imported elements are filling UK and know nothing of this tradition to hold on it and reach their children to respect the flag!
What a difference to my appearance with Blanco pouring down our Tunics and Wind Instruments both freezing to the fingers and rusting away once the parade was over. Happy Days, eh?
