Humble and so talented. Influenced NW music in the 80"s and 90"s. Thinking of you Chris Newman and one of your biggest fans Mark Lanegan. Rest in peace U 2!

A monster of a player and the best of friends....In the light of his passing this tune sounds apropos .... it may be interesting to follow with "Holy ground" and some special effects...and maybe, some cowbells...

My band in high school recorded at Dogfish Studios (a popular studio for the Portland underground music scene at the time) out in Newberg back in 91, and I remember asking the engineer who the fastest band to work with was in terms of getting sounds and knocking out takes. Without hesitation he said "Napalm Beach". It surprised me a bit, based on some of their extracurricular activities, but he said they were complete pros. Knew exactly how they wanted their gear to sound, and had the songs down and dialed in. Anyway, rest easy, Chris Newman.

Good story! I almost interned at Dogfish for Drew Canulette back around 1989, but stupidly had turned it down.

@@garygustin1717 Sad that it burned down! My band had left our master tapes there, and I assume that the tapes went with it. Never heard more than 3rd hand info about what happened.
