I hear a lot of discussion in the church about potential dangers post conversion - as for example is happening here in discussing dangers for pastors. In this discussion there is a focus on what external influences might affect pastors. But the primary issue is not the external influences but the internal ones.
When it comes to the question of internal influences we have to admit that how we begin is how we continue - no one would suggest that if we plant a seed of a particular variety that it has any real potential to transition into a plant of a different variety. Nobody imagines the possibility for example that a human being born as a man will ever reach a point where he worries whether his breasts will grow to be large enough. The point is he was born a man.
Our problem is that we have lost sight of what an evangelical Christian actually is. We talk about how evangelicals believe the Bible is the Word of God and adhere to certain gospel fundamentals. But we are missing the point. An evangelical is somebody who has experienced God using the word of God to show them that they are a sinner - God shows them things about themselves which they were unable to see without his help - and those things are sufficiently deep that from that point on the person has no choice but to turn to God ahead of any other understanding on all spiritual matters. That is for example why that person believes the Bible is the Word of God - not because it is a traditional requirement of Christian belief - but because after the way in which God used the bible to speak to them they have no choice! If a person begins that way there is every likelihood that with some encouragement and unless overwhelmed by external pressures they will continue. Therefore the focus must be on understanding what it really means to be born again. Our primary concern must be that we plant seeds of the desired variety - that we recognise that without the holy spirit and dependence upon God our understanding of the gospel is slowly distorted - leading us to depend on intellect or the traditional precepts of having faith instead of what lies at the heart of faith. Denominational adherences and extensive biblical training won't substitute for this.
So we should understand that pastors who don't talk about all of the word of God never will - and we should confine our efforts only to those who are plants whose seed was of the desired variety.

The gospel is the GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM!
Jesus is going to return and set up the kingdom of God ON THE EARTH! God’s government ON THE EARTH! God resurrected the Messiah! The Messiah will resurrect his people! The destiny of the Messiah and his people is to be ON THE EARTH! The renewed restored earth! God also dwelling with them! Rev 21
Jesus said the Father is the only true God!
    John 17
3 And this is eternal life, that they know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent.
