- Happy #worldballetday! Um 16 Uhr feiern wir den Tag mit einem halbstündigen Training mit Ballettmeisterin Nadja Saidakova und Tänzer:innen des Staatsballetts Berlin. Im Anschlus zeigen wir eine DORNRÖSCHEN-Probe mit Ballettlegende Marcia Haydée, die mit dem Ersten Solotänzer David Soares die Rolle der Carabosse einstudiert. Am Klavier: Samuel Solís-Serrano. Wir wünschen viel Vergnügen!

Wonderful to see the Iana Salenko at work in class. Beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing, Staatsballett Berlin.
David is also a wonderful dancer, always loved his performances at Bolshoi. Was great to see his devotion and passion in dance. And although I know well how exhausting ballet can be - what a prove in this rehearsal. Good luck to David as Carabosse - I believe it can be an extraordinary performance 🔥🔥🔥
I have seen the part of Carabosse played by men in the past. Years ago there was a male Carabosse in a Bolshoi production, now on TH-cam, which was done with such finesse, the frightfully diabolical nature of the character was magically brought to life in unforgettable and larger-than-life ways.

We decided to show a recording of our Ballet Class Up Close, a one-hour event, in front of a live audience. Since we wanted to show both a rehearsal AND a class, we had to reduce the class to the essentials. Thanks for your feedback, though. We appreciate it and take it into consideration for next year's WBD!

@@Mariabautista24 Except she was one of eleven (!) other dancers who had to leave because they were not good enough.
So unless some colleques speak up about her unfair treatment, they MUST have seen it since it only happed during class, and it was only due to hair skin color and not lack of skill, i remain sceptical.

Haydees deutsch war mal besser, aber wahrscheinlich ist es extrem schwer zwischen 3 Sprachen so schnell zu wechseln

After watching Bolshoi, Amsterdam and Paris, this was pretty rubbish in comparison. Germans clap for everything.
Well, to be fair, this is really weak in comparison to the full performance, as the mime and the full of Carabosse's wicked presence is here still missing, and so of course, not satisfying, and "pretty rubbish in comparison", but still Haydee's version is a masterpiece. There are indeed much better dancing scenes from Berlin and performances there and around here in Germany than this bare rehearsal snippet. And don't forget Haydee's version in Stuttgart - and here's also so much good to offer here from other brilliant dance companies in Germany (;

Idk, last years World Ballet Day was more..."more", I guess, but seeing the process was kinda interesting as well, knowing what it can end up looking like.
Not agree. Dancers were good at class (perfect Yana!💥) not to say about David (actually ex-Bolshoi)
Anyway, this Sleeping Beauty is much much better than awkward new one at the Wiener Staatsballett (also was shown at WBDay-2022)
@@vik-kis7959 Yeah, that one is done by Martin Schläpfer, who is actully a rewarded choreographer with modern dance versions of classics, going back to "the original dark source material" - no comparison to Marcia Haydee!
