    Excellent video. Thank you! Loki makes my two Havanese seem like wild animals. 😂 Mine have the same length hair that Loki started with but no knots. Do you still recommend the 5F blade? I have been using a #30 with a clip for years but if it’s not the right blade I will gladly change.

    • @GroomingByRudy
      @GroomingByRudy  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you so much for your kind words..A 30 may be a bit short,you can use a 5f blade granted they are not to badly knotted..if the 5f doesn't go through the coat,you can try a 7f blade which would be a step shorter than the 5f,and would go through a more knotted coat..We appreciate you..Hope this helps

    Love your videos and how loving you are with your dogs. Wish I could find a groomer like you! Quick question , the pin brush you use is that for detangling? I have tried that on my Havi, and he acts like it hurts his skin . Beautiful job on Loki, so sweet ❤

      There are some soft bristles Slicker brushes,or you can look for a Slicker brush that has plastic ball ends on it..It may help

    I am curious, why you don't shampoo first? Wouldn't that help get the mats out with conditioner?

    • @GroomingByRudy
      @GroomingByRudy  วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@susanyakus7364 no,it would be harder to get the mats out of a wet coat .

    Do you know what number blade would be best to use to give the body a more smoother look and not as choppy

    • @GroomingByRudy
      @GroomingByRudy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The choppiness, will more or less based on how fine the coat type is..The finer the coat the more choppy it will appear..

      @@GroomingByRudy oh okay because my neighbor has a havanese and every time I groom her it comes out very choppy and i have no idea what to do

    If you,have a Havanese you need to give it a light groom with a brush and or dematter every two weeks or so.

    Don't do what my groomer did to my Havanese. 1.5 years old, had a mat on her ear, she used scissors to cut it off and to make the ears match, she cut a chunk out of the other ear that didn't have a mat. Not my chosen groomer. My dogs got handed off to a new groomer even though I followed the owner from another spa. Trying someone new next month. Great job on Loki! He's handsome and such a good boy. ❤

    I'm trying to figure out what's the best clippers for a havanese mix cause I just adopted a havanese mix and I can see he might need a trim again

  • @sandyhopkins6098

    I liked him better before the short cut, I never understood why buy a dog with a beautiful coat, then cut most of it off. The coat is the crowning beauty of the bread. It doesn’t have to be extremely long , but not so short.
