    That Snap-On F-70N is older than you think! They were produced from 1937-46, and there should be a date code in between the ON and OFF markings on the selector switch that you can look up to find the precise year. I just restored one from 1944 today - still going strong after 80 years!

    I have the Snap On F70N Ferret, ive taken it apart, cleaned and greased it but it seems you may have skipped over the part with the tiny spring and ball bearing in the top of the ratchet, which is where i think my issue lies. If you could tell me, what did you do for those two little pieces? I cant get my ratchet to work properly after following your steps. Thank you!!

      I left the oiler port at the top alone. I generally don’t touch those as they are rarely a point of failure.

      @@joesgarageandotherstuff Okay thats fair, unfortunately in my case it was a point of failure, it came out as I took it apart. The spring got bent out of shape and the ball is lost. Too bad. Thanks for the response!
