Building a Work Shop: Installing Plywood and Steel on Walls

  • In this episode of building a work shop, we wrap up installing plywood on the walls, and almost finish the majority of the wall steel. I also finally install our exterior corner trims and everyone will be able to hear some beautiful singing from our good buddy Greg.
Many time I am asked how can you finish the inside of a metal building, and how can you make it efficient or comfortable. I am in love with how this one turns out, and our client is going to have an awesome space to use as his work shop.

It is a very good book for beginners as well as for those that are already into th-cam.com/users/postUgkxTNB_zFBSnTo_O1PqfVUwgi7ityw0JlKt A very good basic ebook to keep as a reference too. I like it and the way the subject matter is presented. It has humor and that helps with the reading.

You should do a building give away and give it to the guy who suggested it. I wish every builder had your integrity for building. NO short cut and building thing to last.

I like the opposing colors on the corner. A few dollars more per sheet of plywood is worth it, makes the interior much better looking.
    Keep up the great work.

I've been watching your videos for a couple of weeks now, they are very nice but I would love to see more of the details. I will, thank you!!! There's so many trick to doing the small things and maybe you've covered it in other video such as how do you cut the metal to length? I saw in this video that you were punching dimples in the ceiling metal while it was stacked up. I'm assuming to mark for the screw, small tips like that are so interesting. Thanks for great content.

Fantastic job as always. While most people choose surface mount EMT, I'm a sucker for hiding everything in the walls. For the plywood installation consider a small upcharge for Scrail fasteners... the install goes exactly as fast for you, but the customer can easily remove a panel or panels when necessary. That's especially helpful when you have practically book matched plywood :)

Personally I think you should put the bottom flat sheet on first just like you would on the outside...because it is over the door, there is a possibility of condensation to form. The condensation would then seep behind the bottom layer.

I love your stuff. I have a question for you Kyle. In watching this video in the series of this build, I am wondering why there was no electric run in the ceiling for lighting before you put the panels up there? What are the customers going to do for lighting that huge space? With the ceilings that high, wouldn't it be a good idea to install some "Big Ass" ceiling fans up there to push some heat down from the ceiling. These are the crazy things my mind comes up with. After all, you are the master and I am just a grasshopper learning from you. Thanks
