Damn! This was fast and epic!! Would be cool to have Hansi as IE frontman at some point. He delivers this song with a lot of emotion and feeling, which Neither Greely, Barlow or Stu Block can do -Hansi is such a gifted singer! And props to Richard Christy for the inhumanly technical drums :)
Hansi is a better vocalist than every person that has ever been on Iced Earth and likely on any other power metal band. If they made a studio version of this, it would have blown all other versions out of the water.
This sounds like it was recorded on a camcorder. It's a shame that that's the way it had to be, since as far as I know this never got an official release.
I fucking love this track! I think this is my alltime favorit IE track, and Hansi does such an amazing job. It would have been perfect if they had go him instead of ripper, but I guess that would be highly unlikely anyway :P.
For what this was, it sounded alright. I totally think a studio version of this would be insanely good, but I hope that Demons & Wizards doesn't cover Iced Earth all the time.
No one is disputing Ripper's singing ability, we're disputing if he is the right "voice" for IE. He isn't. He doesn't have the aggression which is a common theme in many of IE's tracks.
I can't listen to anything but the originals. They remade Stormrider and a few other albums and I can't get used to the new guy at all. Some people like him ..
fucking Hansi singing my fav IE song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! fuck yeah!! Im screaming and its midnight here! haha I find it fucking pathetic how people start comparing covers to originals. WHo the fuck cares?! when you are at a live show and the band covers one of your fav songs, believe me, you are not listening to analyze the fucking cover. Stop thinking and fucking sing and throw your horns up.
Odd that he sang Greeley's version and not Barlow's. Hansi though isn't as good a singer as Matt, but he still blows pwnage all over the songs. It is cool though hearing Jarzombeck completely rip it on the drums, and who is playing guitar? That solo was better than the original.
@@themodfather9382 Listen to the album Imagination from the Other Side. Hansi has a Banshee voice too. He doesn't use it as much now that he is older but back in the day it was insane. He also can do very low growls.
Greely's growls kick ass, better than most Thrash vocalists. However Iced Earth's later albums are power metal and wouldn't sound right with a good vocalist. It's just the style, good vocalists and Thrash don't sound right together. =P
Oh, now my life is almost complete... the only thing that's left is to hear Hansi and Barlow together...
"I Died For You" NY Sept 5th 2019.
OMG THIS IS TRUE GEM FFS
reminds me of the original Night of the Stormrider version haha with Fucking awesome How did I not find this sooner
It's very cool hearing Hansi sing some Iced Earth material! He does a great job!

LMAO
Hansi is the GOAT
I prefer Greely's vocals with most of NOTS's songs. Especially this one, but still, this is awesome.
Wait... Did the audience say they DIDN'T like it at the end?
This sounds like it was recorded on a camcorder. It's a shame that that's the way it had to be, since as far as I know this never got an official release.
WOW! A friend told me about this. AMAZING!
I hope Demons and Wizards to release an official live album, and I hope that they include this song on it.
I enjoy this version very much.
Bravo! Man I can not wait for a Live CD/DVD!
my god the drums/guitar are godly fast...... 0_0. i knew this song to be fast in general but this is .... 10 times that
I can't agree more with you!!
aw cmon there has to be a video of this somewhere!!! so awesome...
Richard Christy, part of Iced Earth at these time
I fucking love this track! I think this is my alltime favorit IE track, and Hansi does such an amazing job. It would have been perfect if they had go him instead of ripper, but I guess that would be highly unlikely anyway :P.
I hope so!
bout time someone took the side of the best heavy metal singer today Ripper 4 Life
i hope there's gonna be one
I agree quite a lot.
Best metal singer todat, I dont know about that. The Ripper is a fucking beast though, Jugulator rules!!
For what this was, it sounded alright. I totally think a studio version of this would be insanely good, but I hope that Demons & Wizards doesn't cover Iced Earth all the time.
the newest covers of i died for you and burning times on the live tour are amazing tho

Wow, they even remixed this popular Iced Earth song? Fucking sweet!
Hey, whoa, Greely wasn't THAT bad. Especially when compared to Gene Adams.
Tanner Johnson Glad there's other people who think that besides me
glad I could help
holy shit
sweet
You do realize that its Hansi, the singer of Blind Guardian singing, and not Tim?
What holy shit i never know that Hansis do travel in stygian live at demons and wizard show ^^. It's pretty good but I prefer the barlow version ^^
Well Matt didn't sing it originally anyway.
To metaldave08096:
I HATE IT TOO!! Ripper fucking kicks ass!
EPIC
cant you hear its live?
yes im not talkin about that i was refering to metaldave08096 comments
I understand that Ripper deserves a chance, but I personally think he didn't work for Iced Earth's style.
@Madrugazevedo Unfortunately that's not how it works.
who's the drummer?
bobby jarzombek?
fucking Hansi singing my fav IE song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
fuck yeah!! Im screaming and its midnight here! haha

i am well aware of that, i just didn't like people bashing ripper.
I hate labels, Metal is Metal.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! \m/ XD
I hate labels only when people dont know what they mean and they stick em to the wrong things.
Odd that he sang Greeley's version and not Barlow's. Hansi though isn't as good a singer as Matt, but he still blows pwnage all over the songs.

who says its power metal though? my ears certainly dont.
stop putting labels on things just because its on wikipedia.
no it's Lil Kim
i'd take Barlows voice on any iced earth song, hansi is good though
Hard to see where Hansi would fit as most of the songs are pretty angry.
@@themodfather9382 Listen to the album Imagination from the Other Side. Hansi has a Banshee voice too. He doesn't use it as much now that he is older but back in the day it was insane. He also can do very low growls.
@@themodfather9382Hansi has done angry and outright vicious vocals plenty of times
recorded with a toaster
Ripper is -good-, just not with Iced Earth. Think of John Greely singing this song, then Matt Barlow doing it. You'll see what I mean.
matt barlow's voice is the best for ICED Earth..but matt can't sing BG songs as HANSI..
Hey BOY! YOU'RE NOT SCREAMING LOUD ENOUGH! DAMN IT! COME ON! WAKE UP!
ok I'm bored :/
Greely's growls kick ass, better than most Thrash vocalists.

It's just the style, good vocalists and Thrash don't sound right together. =P
Crank down the drums.. cant hear the guitars D: Meh
I prefer matt ...
well hansi is good, but barlow and greely are better at this song, i think
Meh....this is just ok. Especially with Hansi using Greely's inflections and not Barlow's on the verses.
well, Hansi toured with Iced Earth before Matt was in the band. SO Greely version is the one that he knows.
reminds me of the original Night of the Stormrider version haha with Fucking awesome How did I not find this sooner
