But in reality, Google, Apple, Samsung too are using your data. And they too comply with the US govt. Obviously the US want's to maintain the monopoly and Taiwan, S.Korea are it's vassal states so they don't mind Samsung or Soc, semiconductor etc manufacturing plants. But they've successfully created a narrative that Chinese oems don't respect your privacy, the firewall stuff etc. But we know who has the actual control of your data, social media... it's the USA. Some day in the future when India will start manufacturing, we will be targeted too by the west. Nonetheless, we are not in good terms with China and buying Chinese stuff does boost their economy which India and USA both don't want currently. USA has played well by having Pak, India and China at each other, lol. But for common users like us, buy what provides you value as privacy is a myth anyways. OP12 does offer a lot more than S24, Iphone 15 etc in some regards. Camera's is where I think the later two pull a bit ahead. Cheers 🥂

Maybe its not personally more valuable to you but in general people will prefer wireless charging, better battery, better ip rating, better and longer software support, faster file transfer, better resale value etc over a few extra frames when playing games. Not to forget a better display as well. Both are on 8gen 3, its not even noticeable the performance difference lol.

I think you are being too critical on this phone. Like it offers everything that attracts non-techy people because it comes with free amazing accessories in the box. I think the only con I can think of in this phone is software experience because it is not polished as Google, Samsung, iPhone and Nothing. (And ofcourse some aspects of camera) But other then that the permission thing is present in all phones while you setup. And if you think about it, then it's great that each app asks for permission so that you can enable/disable some apps (unlike other manufacturer which take default permissions without asking you).
No these apps ask permission because they are going send data to third parties. Even for apps like which shouldn’t even need to send data anywhere and it should be processed locally.

Camera is more consistent and video quality is incomparable. Flat screen, better ecosystem and dex are plus points. OnePlus will win on display size and battery. But the weight balance is an issue for me so S23.

You earned a subscriber because most of your thoughts are similar to mine e.g. having a PD charger instead of a USB A to C (most of people doesn’t even understand how bothersome it is to carry different power bricks while you can use a single PD brick to charge your every single device), Oneplus being shady and degrading the performance of their device over years through OTA updates (personal experience), asking to agree to more EULAs for the applications you can’t bloody get rid of, optical fingerprint sensor is another issue with these ultra bright displays: now the displays are so bright that using an optical fingerprint sensor at night would give you nightmares.
