- In the old Medina of Marrakech, in the middle of small streets, dusty pavements and little shops, there is a magic place. It is a beautiful palace that is a symbol of the city’s rich history and culture. With its delicate decor and refined woodcarvings Dar el Bacha resembles a Middle East fairytale palace. This grand residence was built in 1910 and was once the home of Thami El Glaoui, who was appointed as the Pasha of Marrakech.
Since 2014, the National Museums Foundation (FNM) manages Dar El Bacha in Marrakech. Renamed Dar El Bacha - Musée des Confluences, this new museum opened on December 18, 2017.
