Playing as aggressively as you need to to make the sounds they did carry a high risk of breaking bow strings, but also they usually over-tighten their bows to intentionally increase the chances of it happening for the sake of showmanship in their videos. Normally, for actual play there would be a lot less.
As a former Double Bass player in a strings section one thing i learned, the composer loves it when they see bow strands breaking. To them it means the player is playing with passion. Its not hard to replace the strings and normally a player will carry more than 1 bow with them for any performance and practice.
Hi Inna. Good reaction to 2Cellos, they are from Croatia and their names are Luka Šulić and Stjepan Hauser. Both are classically trained cellists. Also feel free to check out ELO (The Electric Light Orchestra), they also use cellos for both rock and pop music. Some good songs with them are: "Livin' Thing", "Rockaria", "Telephone Line", "Showdown" and "Sweet Talkin' Woman". Good job, keep it up.😉❤
I saw them (ELO) in Oakland, Ca. many, many years ago. The whole stage was a huge flying saucer that split apart along it's edge and rose up slowly. The band also rose up out of their own individual trap doors playing. At one point both holding the Cellos upside down over their heads absolutely killing it.

the reason their bows shred is they are strumming much harder than normal for traditional cello playing, normally your cello teacher would rip you a new one for not taking care of your bow like that.
What´s fascinating to think about - this exact performance could have been done hundreds of years ago! Minus amplifiers of course, but it still could have been played like that.
Just a little side note. "Cello" is one of those odd words that has kept its original pronunciation when it was adopted into English. So it sounds more like "Tchello" than "Sello". Obviously, if you've only ever encountered the word in text (as opposed to speech), you'd never know this.

A perfect performance to pair with this. Pretty much perfectly opposite when it comes to style. But still amazing. I would say even more amazing than this one. :)
Cello is mostly played with real horsehair bows. (strings plural, the bow actually consists of many strings/hairs that are all aligned in one direction, so you have the "smooth" direction and the direction with more friction on the strings. You always rip a few of them normally playing chello, but of course the way those two play they completely shred their bows.
Hard rock and heavy metal go extremely well with classical music. Metallica (especially valid since you're going to see them), had an album in the mid to late 90s (I believe it was 2 CDs), entitled "Metallica Live S&M". It was recorded with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra. Simply amazing. Definitely check it out.
The lower sounds that you are hearing are that they have effects they are using like those used on electric guitar, probably an octave or pitch shift pedal and some kind of distortion pedal! Inna, pretty, pretty, pretty please take a look at the cover of the same song, live performance by Steve n Seagulls, it’s absolutely the best fun cover of it - you will be helpless laughing!!!

Not so heavy. but you and others should check out Lindsey Strling. A American violinist and dancer. She writes her on song. Excellent vedios as well. Great to see some one look. Wow. 👽👍
You really need to check out the early worcs of "Apocalyptica" they did this way earlier, but they were 4 cellos i think.... later they watered it down, by adding drums. by then, sadly, they lost their flair and became a mediocre metal band. but before, they were exceptional good...
