Thanks again for another great review. For me the challenge created by the constraint of the tin is what drives me to keep creating them. I do try to mix it up and design larger projects, but I always do come back to the tin for the challenge. Trying to strip a design down to what is fun and finding clever ways to implement my ideas never gets old. Thanks again!

I love the "...goes to eleven" joke! Spinal Tap forever!!!! ; ) I really enjoyed your comment about how the adventure/surprise aspects of the game may not last too long, but that it can transition into a puzzle-centric game after a number of plays--great observation!

Glad to see this game getting well-deserved attention. I’ve really enjoyed my time with it over the past year for all the reasons you described - quick, interesting dungeon game that’s easy to keep in a backpack when a few mins can be spared

I was so impressed by Tin Helm that I picked up Iron Helm and all expansions which use the same formula. Tin helm is an awesome little travel sample of Iron Helm, but glad I have both since I do travel a bit.

Great review, Liz. I have a fascination at the moment with small (solo) games that pack a LOT of game into a small box.

Curious what you think if you end up trying Iron Helm, the predecessor to Tin Helm. It's freed from the "tin" gimmick. There are more than enough expansions.
Wonder if you've got other tin games like Mint Knight (a "mint" version of Mage Knight) and Doom Machine. I've heard pretty good feedback for Mint Knight, but I've never played full Mage Knight so am intimidated.

    Nice review.
If I remember correctly, I think basic attack doesn't use any dice rolls. It's simply one guaranteed damage. Which is why balancing energy is so crucial.
And there is a bigger version of this called Iron Helm.

Thanks for the review. I’m interested to try a solo mint tin style game. I’ve not really played a dungeon crawler in many years but it does have some appeal and I’ll likely enjoy it once I start it again. Gate looks interesting too and just wondering which mint tin game might be best to start with. Prefer to relatively easy to learn game to try a mint tin game. Maybe Gate is more complex?

I thought Gate was very chill, but I also love tower defense games.

Now if you buy the other mint tin series games, they come with tiny expansions for Tin Helm
