@@missgirl645 that’s kinda my point I guess. Doja is a rapper. All of her projects contain rap. Planet Her is more poppy, there’s lots of singing tracks but there’s also multiple straight rap tracks. I could see how if you’d only listened to Planet Her though you could think Doja was a singer who raps sometimes.
I love Doja. She’s not just talking about a man, she’s talking about the world, the entire internet. Replying to the same crowd that has been judging her for so long. They loved and lusted for her when she fit society’s preference now she’s her unapologetically
She is a hit maker. She’s done 3 albums that have all been pretty successful especially last two blew her up into mainstream. She produces her own music a lot of times live on ig too, she can actually sing, raps and dances. Amazing performer. She’s really a whole package and a threat in the industry. I’m not sure why y’all are sayin it’s like rap bars, she’s mainly a rapper 😂😂😂
love how you guys thoughtfully dissect the lyrics and visuals instead of the typical incoherent madness every time a music video's got a woman in it lol this was refreshing
I like to think the lines, "And we all wanna be the one to see the devastation Not be in it, but ain't the bad press good?" talks about hypocrisy. How people love watching others' devastation, but when the script is flipped its a different tune.
Best reaction I've seen! great points! Especially love the bit you raised about femininity. I feel Doja is that bitch who UNDERSTANDS and uses her femininity as a powerful thing and never masks it by emulating male 'strength' or abrasiveness. A lot of reactions say the hook and the song are disjointed, but I think this is simply Doja flexing the different facets of her femininity (as the seductive siren and the one who talks her shit) + being experimental and playful. She is top tier. Keep it up guys! Subscribed :)
Society wants us to weaponise feminism. I had a situation where a guy at work was actually afraid to hold a door open for me because his first thought was that I might call him sexist. There is something seriously wrong. My feminity is my superpower & no woke agenda is telling me how I should behave.
I like that you really enjoyed her as an artist on this excellent track (please do check out her other songs, too). She can rap and sing and this is a great new direction for her. The visual also really expresses what she is trying to show people - that this is a real change in direction for her. It was great to see two men not just stop the track to say how hot she looks, but to discuss her talent and lyrical flow. In the past, she has been self deprecating (she said depricate, not deficate) and now is showing more freedom & strength - you were both spot on! I remember when a lot of male rappers put hot female singers on their tracks, especially in the 90's - now, I see so many strong female rappers (including Doja) collaborating with talented male rappers & I am here for it! I've been listening to rap since 1977 and it's great to see both male and female rappers creating great music. New sub, Thank you both!
I agree with you so much! They really upset me there. Why is it so hard for them to call her a rapper when she's outrapping 80% of all men in the industry especially in this song
Yaay some Doja Cat reactions! Let's gooo! i'm excited for y'all to check more of her music 😍 Also, you can look up ''Doja Cat being herself'' or ''Doja Cat funny moments'' to get to know her as a person. i'd love to watch your reactions to these kinds of videos haha trust me you're gonna enjoy it cause she's so likeable and hilarious🤣
I don't know if this is the best place to start with Doja. This song is meant to be a statement piece. It doesn't really represent her as an artist. The chorus is purposely sung in a mocking tone because she's mocking internet stan culture. She's a much better singer that what she presents here. Doja is one of the best rappers on the scene, and she's by far the most versatile mainstream rap artist around right now. She's the total package. She writes, produces, sings, raps, and dances. She's also absolutely stunning.
I think it represents where she’s going tho. I wasn’t too much of a fan until this and I’m sure she has a whole new audience like myself now waiting for her album along with the real fans who followed her all along.
@@beverleyeliane I completely agree. I'm really excited to see where she goes next. I just think there are earlier songs you can listen to that showcase her insane talent for rapping. I'm really excited to see her moving away from pop music and into a space where she can grow as an artist.
I also noticed the one person that was walking with no face had rainbow hair similar to 6ix9ine so I’m like is she also calling him out to being a hater
She gotta brand new song out called Paint the Town Red. Y'all should react. Also, one of her first joints was Tia Tamera. You should check that as well.
I wouldn't be surprised if it was inspired by The Verve. Doja is a rock/alternative/electronic girlie at heart. That's why she did whole sets of her songs adapted to rock songs, and has done covers of rock songs. People are allowed to pay homage to the classics. At least she isn't straight up stealing beats from smaller, old school, producers the way Cardi, Beyonce, and The City Girls do.
I have a recommendation for you guys, RAYE is a very talented artist who sings and also raps, maybe you know her for her most viral song "escapism" (if you haven't heard it you should) plss react to "hard out here" by her I think you will like it♡ I really like your reactions guys♡
Doja really raps. Check out her song "Rules"
I think that is the hardest she has ever gone in terms of her raps!
She goes wild on Rules
But she honestly stays rapping in most of her work. Planet Her was her least rap album besides maybe Purr
@@vegahimsai don’t think so, she raps 90% on Planet Her even in Love To Dream who is a kind of mellow pop rap song

She's coming for blood. Dojas tired of being Doja Cat the popstar she's bringing Doja Cat the rapper
She's always been a rapper

The video for sure but I dnt hear it in the music

Funny considering The Verve got sued by The Rolling Stones for that 😂
I don't think it sounds like it at all though tbh.
