@@cure9150 and precisely that power hungry processor in a small package phone with a small battery would deplete the battery faster! And processor hardly matters for normal day-to-day use for most ppl who buy phones at this range. All they need is great user experience and a decent camera which in my opinion all these phones provide with some differences in camera quality, software and battery life. Different ppl may lean toward different things but u can't go wrong with any of these phones imo.

If you look at the blues of the sky and eyes, Samsung is noticeably more saturated, plus they don't just push the saturation, they push the contrast as well which in my opinion, gives overall image a more artificial look. Plenty of people like it, as contrast is something that makes the image pop more but I personally can almost always differentiate between Samsung and iPhone, as Samsung pushes greens and blues and contrast a little over the level I'd be comfortable with. Also, if you look at the scene with the red tree on 2:02 - the sky is darker shade of blue resulting in a halo-like effect on the buildings - tons of Samsung-taken photos have this and it ruins the photos for me. Owning Pixel 2 for years now, I am not sure I can switch to a different camera, it balances every shot perfectly to my tastes :/

Amazing comparison, thank you. My own take:
Opening shot: The iPhone looks blurry in the most important part, his face, compared to the other two side by side.
47 seconds into it The Pixil had problems adjusting as quickly from darker to lighter more than the iPhone and Galaxy which had no wash-out/glare at all.
1 minute 3s in you can see more details on the Galaxy than the other two, look at the leaves on the tree at the ground. but 4 seconds later on the ultrawide the Pixil seems to edge out the other two slightly on detail on the furthest object, the tower in the upper right,
1m13s:The iPhone is just a little blurry in the face again, and the Pixil has that contrast issue it did earlier which darkens her face and creates a glow on the edge of her hair, the Galaxy looks normal/detailed. 3 seconds later as he wildly swings the camera around the Pixil seems to pick up the fine details in the branches -slightly- better than the other two, with the Galaxy looking fairly detailed, and the iPhone again looking slightly blurry compared to the other two.
1m30s:Again the Galaxy picks up the details better than the other two, noticeably the leaves in the tree, the edges of the stonework on the tower, and most importantly the rainbow. Again the iPhone seems to blur the colors of the leaves in the tree a bit (is this slight blur intentional?) The Zoom on the Galaxy is impressing and clearly blows the other two out of the water.
2m2s:The details on that impressive red tree are again picked up noticeably better on the Galaxy than the other two. The Galaxy also picks up the color on the window and roof to the left of the tree better than the other two, bringing out the blueish tinge rather than showing it as a pure grey. Again unsurprisingly the Galaxy destroys on the zoom yet again.
2m30s:A house and another rainbow despite what the guy says to me The Pixil looks a little washed out, the iPhone is a little better, and again the Galaxy destroys the other two in both color and detail. He thinks the Galaxy doesn't look realistic, I think it looks amazing in this shot, it looks right out of a fairy tale movie everything is so vibrant.
2m49s:The Flower Again he seems to not like this shot on the Galaxy, but to me both the moisture on the petals and the background, though blurry since it's not in focus on any of the three cameras, is much more detailed and have greater contrasts in colors on the Galaxy than the other two.
3m49s:The Swan He touches on something important the iPhone has 'smartHDR3" which 'evens things out' well that's apparently why so many of the important parts of the iPhone's shots look blurry to me.
4m:2s:The Wife I agree with him the Pixil looks the best, the iPhone is again blurry, and although the Galaxy is hands down miles ahead of the other two in the background, look at the details and colors on that tree branch and the building in the back, when looking at her face the Galaxy shows the eyebrows how they truly are, a bit darker, and the pixil lightens them up making the face more uniform and pleasant, almost like it has a built-in filter.
4m19s:The coffee test. It was incredibly easy to figure out which one was which, the Galaxy picks up the background details much better than the other two, the iPhone blurs everything a bit intentionally, and the Pixil is a middle ground. I again like the Galaxy better for this one.
4m31s:Between buildings test. Again this was completely obvious, the furthest left is incredibly detailed with wonderful colors on the skylight windows of the building, has a bright blue sky and of course is the Galaxy, The middle one is blurry and washes the colors all together a bit muting contrasts, but somehow picks up a darker blue sky like in earlier iPhone pictures, so that's the iPhone, and the middle ground again is the Pixil, just like in earlier pictures it picks up things a bit better than the iPhone with some more detail/color contrast, but not as good as the Galaxy, and somehow is the worst at sky/clouds of the tree.
4m55s:Cat. Pixil is a clear loser here on how close up it has to be, but it fairs better on the colors than the iPhone, and the Galaxy manages to get the colors and the details edging out the other two. The iPhone's only plus here is it seems to lighten the cats right eye, making the face a little more appealing than the other two.
5m11s:Himself. The Pixil just looks the best here, the iPhone has it's signature blur-everything, the Galaxy while good as more contrast in the shadows of the eyes, which the Pixil has lightened without blurring. A few seconds later on the second shot of himself I again love what he hates, the Galaxy's vivid colors take the best picture, and somehow the Pixil here manages to make the eyes look darker, trying and failing for that middle ground. The iPhone doesn't look bad for this second shot, save for the background which is much blurrier than the other two.
5m33s:Night Mode various pictures: The Pixil struggles more than the other two with the lower lighting just as it did with daytime shadow/sunlight shots, light sources drown out darker , The iPhone Nukes the problem head-on by brightening everything to much which changes the colors and makes them washed out, while still also having problems with glare right around the light source. The Galaxy is the clear winner for me, it maintains colors, picks up details while avoiding the iPhone's issue of lightning things to much, the Galaxy's shots still look like 'this is a low light situation, but here's all the info you wanted'.
6m32s: Stars, wow that Astrophotography mode on the Pixil is amazing, but I'll admit that is a very situational feature that might only come up once or twice a year at most. Again we see that the iPhone's night mode nukes the crap out of the scene washing everything out into brightness. The Galaxy doesn't fair well with this one, it looks more realistic than the iPhone but it picks the least stars out from all three.
6m43: Selfie front camera. Starting with low light, the iPhone actually looks the best for this one. This time the Pixil looks washed out, and the Galaxy looks too contrasted. The iPhone's blur feature actually works well in this low-light-but-no-night-mode-on fringe situation. Once he switches into Night mode for this low light shot the Galaxy pulls ahead for me, the colors in the background flatter and pull attention right to his face, the iPhone gets washed out a little now, and the Pixil is even worse brightening things too much. Switching to the daytime selfie in portrait mode I agree with him completely, this is the first time that the Galaxy looks the most washed out of the three. The Pixil looks to have the biggest contrasts and the iPhones blur-feature is working well to smooth out his face.
7m15s:A Final video. This is more of the same from earlier, the iPhone obviously has an automatic built-in filter that blends things, and in this is sort of goes a bit to far, making his eyebrows disappear into his skin a bit. The Pixil looks better than the iPhone, but is zoomed in a bit to much, and finally the Galaxy looks great there's so much detail on his face, in his hair, the fuzzy lining of his jacket and the fence/leaves behind him, but maybe some people don't want to see all those little details like their laugh lines?

im speaking from personal experience, when it comes to indoors, samsung just makes the photo too bright, especially the selfies which I hate. The selfies makes my skin too smooth, too bright and washed out, and even blurry when trying to take a group selfie.

    • @JR28.

@@johncruz5001 i think it's due to the slower shutter/focus speed in low light and you may be moving slightly or moving away too early. When I take selfies indoors, I always ensure to be really still and not move for a good 1 or 2 seconds after pressing the shutter button. They always turn out great, never blurry or washed out like you said. If the problem still continues you need to enable the motion photo setting(at the top of the screen in the camera viewfinder) . Also, I love taking pictures of my son and about 90% of the photos come out blurry in the face. I know my toddler can't stay still for a long period of time but I never had this issue with my pixel phone. For me, I ended up purchasing the 512 gb for $1,299 and honestly just not worth the price if the main reason I purchased the phone was to take pictures of my son. In my opinion, telephoto capability, (on top of a good sensor, optics and processing) is that last piece needed for a phone to finally become a proper and versatile camera.
So I bought the S20 Fe for my girlfriend and the zoom details are really as good as in your video and unlike anything I have ever seen on a phone before. So I think the years and years of hauling Canons and Lumix cameras for the zoom shots on our hikes, that time has finally come to an end 😅

I easily preferred both of the shots taken by the S20 FE in the blind comparison, though The iPhone easily wins for all video recording. It really seems to be a cut above. The Pixel may be accurate and capture a lot of detail, but the shots from the main lens just seem to come out so drab and lifeless to my (admittedly untrained) eyes.
