Is it a low light security camera? I have a few of these watching sky & moving objects do trail like that, even birds or bats & insects. Its to do with the image processing, they layer on prior frames to capture better low light image. Fine if the scene is fairly static, but creates ghosting for anything moving. Any Dahua 4MP 5442 model apparently have a great low light sensor.
That IS interesting!! (Thanks for the time and effort to do that vid). For over a year now, I've been observing what I jokingly call "MuskBalls" - PRESUMABLY starlink low earth orbit satellites. My attempts to film this on the cheapest possible Sony Handycam aren't anything to publish. The mystery (for my time of night and location) is the source of illumination (I used to watch a cluster of them around 01:30 - 02:00 am in the vicinity of the Southern Cross from Adelaide South Australia). Infra-Red puts a new perspective on it, and the appearance of trails raises a lot more questions worthy of investigation.
This is a great lesson on two and three point perspective one studies in fine arts classes. Most of these appear to be satellites and / or "space junk" originating from a single point - relatively speaking - in the sky and high up. This gives the illusion that they are flying in different directions when, in fact, they are not.
Hello, the objects leave trails because the camera stacks a few frames to improve low light visibility. A lot of CCTV cameras have an integrated module for that.
The 'trails' can be explained by camera artifacts. I guess it's one of those 'super sensitive' surveillance cameras.
