In the 80’s perfumes had to compete with cigarette smoke and hair product smell. So therefore scents really had to really make themselves standout to be known and remembered ☀️

Wow, times sure have changed. I am at least 10 years older than you are RuthAnne, and I have been wearing perfume since high school. My "signature" fragrance when I was young was Dior Poison and I wore it every single day - even to work! (because we did that in the day) - and NEVER had anyone mention it let alone complain about it. No one has ever been that rude or bold to me, even my husband (he never mentions my scents anyway :)) Now I am not an overspritzer, my sense of smell is pretty acute, one spray on each wrist and on my chest is usually good for me, so maybe that's why? I don't know, but people have gotten so very sensitive and outspoken over the years. I would never tell anyone that their fragrance was bothering me even if it did, but quite honestly, I've never been offended by anyone's fragrance before. I find what people wear to be interesting even if I don't like it because it tells me something about them.
The story about the Nag Champa was so funny! I don't smoke weed but I love burning incense just for the atmospheric value and it sticks to my hair and clothing and people have always told me that I smell good and that my house smells good. I am going to check out the Zelda oils though because I would love a fragrance that smells like Nag Champa, and the red musk sounds good too. Oh! I ended up getting the Wag's Egyptian Musk oil that you had mentioned in another video and I love it, thank you so much for that! :)

This was so much fun! Really loved this video and like how funny you are, plus the longer your videos the better in my humble opinion!
I'm not sure if I should admit to how many bottles of Worcestershire Sauce I get though per year but it's basically the British equivalent of soy sauce and I add it to so many things - we even have Worcestershire Sauce flavoured crisps (or potato chips as they're called in the U.S.A) and people love it on cheese on toast too (AKA grilled cheese!)🤣 If anyone reading this want's to use up their bottle, try adding copious amounts to mushrooms while frying them and cook them down until most of the moisture has gone - with a bit of butter and garlic if you really want a flavour explosion - tangy, spicy, umami goodness!

I also like and wear strong perfumes. We are around the same age. I'm fascinated by all these TH-camrs that constantly get compliments on their perfume. I get zero comments on what I'm wearing. It's probably been at least 10 years since I've got any feedback. I almost wish I'd get complaints!

    These were fun stories.
I work in a grocery store and we keep febreeze in the cubby under the registers because so many customers smell so bad.
I only smell two actual perfumes on women and i greatly dislike both, and they are always nuclear strength. Maybe if they were lighter applications i might like them but i can't stand either at this point. The older women wear Aromatics Elixirs and the younger women wear Cloud.
    Love your channel Ruth Anne!

Hi RuthAnne, this video made me laugh so hard! I want to get the Red Egyptian musk oil to start a riot in my neck of the woods. 20 years ago, I had a coworker who was an older woman who approached me about my heavy perfume which was Escape. I continued spraying it anyway because I thought she was wrong and others complemented me before. Plus, in Miami, FL, it's a competition of scents. Since then, I use more tame work scents at office environments since it's corporate policy.

I adore perfume so much and also am a small collector and picked up many loves due to your influence (like Blue Grass, White Shoulders and Ciara), but I understand the restaurant story. I work in a restaurant and I can't tell you how many times the middle eastern foreign exchange students would come in and dowse the place in their scent just by walking through the front door. I would smell it all the way to the back of the kitchen while I was cooking on the grill/under the exhaust and then it would linger at least an hour after they left. A little annoying but I have to also admit their perfumes were always really beautiful. A common occurrence with that ethnicity. btw, I am middle eastern too. 😆 We also had another regular who wore D&G Light Blue very heavily, a perfume I always liked but got so sick of it due to the over exposure. and another woman who would apply cucumber melon by bbw inside the restaurant. probably one of my least favorite scents. I wished I had a gas mask in that moment. lol I can understand being triggered in that environment. 😩
Anyway thanks for your reviews. I also have Shaghaf Oud and I don't think it's that bad but I do like it on others more than on myself. I think when we smell a note or combination of notes that is disagreeable to us we can perceive that perfume as stronger than it is. The chocolate one you mentioned sounds amazing! The strongest to my nose in my collection right now is Paris (coral top) by Ysl.

I'm going to have a colonoscopy next week.I wonder which perfume I should bathe in before I leave home. Shalimar?White Diamonds En Rouge?Khamrah? The nuclear Rose 01 ? Maybe its not such a good idea to piss off the doctor who's perfoming the procedure.

I layer body sprays (usually some type of vanilla) and put a tiny bit of a perfume on my neck & inner elbows. I recently discovered Shaghaf Oud and thought it was a GREAT addition, so exotic yet sophisticated!! So I’m so sorry to hear your relative didn’t appreciate the fragrance. 👀😟😔

I'm in healthcare, so like you I have to be super stealth and choosy about the fragrances I wear to work. As a result I usually only spray once on each forearm, and stick to freshies or very soft florals. I wear perfume for myself anyway, so I don't mind if it's a skin scent all day. One of my coworkers is affectionally known as the "Perfume Grinch", and he complains about the scent of our dish soap, bathroom freshener, or ANY scent he picks up. One day I foolishly thought I'd try Angel EDT, and went my usual 2 sprays. NOPE!!! He begged me to never ever ever ever wear it again, and as a result I sold that bottle soon after! LOL PS: In the evenings and on weekends is when I "play" with new scents, samples, and wearing the stronger stuff that I love! I don't ever do more than 4 sprays of anything? ✌

I just discovered you and so far I love the videos, you talk about fragrances that are not main stream that used to be popular like Cierra and tea rose and Loves baby soft, my mom got me some of that it was her favorite. I think I need to buy some. Kind of disappointed to find out Ciara it's not a fragrance a lot of people like because I kind of want to get that it's cheap enough that I probably will but I work at a school with kids so I don't want to get roasted too much I definitely want to buy tea rose and I looked it up not too long ago but it was out where did you get it?

What a fun video! Some people demand to be seen or heard...I demand to be smelled! I'm all about incense, patchouli, musk, & roses.
I'm on my 2nd bottle of Shagaff Oud! 😂 Honestly, my son wears it, too, though, and it's taken years. I think it smells like pecan pie incense.
I once had a woman ask the waitress to move tables...outside!...because "something smelled like incense"...it was me! I was wearing Wags nag-chouli. Patchouli Garden's nag champa is even stronger. ❤
Tea Rose reminds me of my gramma, too. My husband bought be a big bottle and thankfully, loves it as much as me. I often spray it on before breakfast and it ends up being my first layer.
