The Core actually closes early because there isn't much pedestrian traffic downtown after 6 PM! The issue is that there are isn't very large of a population in the downtown core which is a result of downtown being built up as essentially an office park from the 1960s-1980s (especially during the 1970s oil boom.) This has only just recently started to change with the residential buildout of Eau Claire (North Downtown starting in the 1990s) and the East Village (East Downtown starting in the mid 2000s) and the city has looked at diversifying the building uses because of the high office vacancy by converting older office buildings into residential.

The most densely populated area of Calgary is known as the Beltline. It's basically a 5-minute walk from downtown. It's also where the Arts Hotel is located, which is where these vloggers stayed. The Beltline is made up of mostly high-rise condos and apartments. In one given a city block, there can be two thousand people residing. If you Google Search "what is the most densely populated area of Calgary?" The result will be revealed. Nothing but high rise apartments and condos for at least 25 blocks running east west, and a dozen or so blocks running from downtown southward. I've lived in Calgary for 50 years, both the Beltline and many different suburbs.
Wait? They were not going to let you near the Devonian Gardens with a camera? Unfortunately I think you just ran into a mean person. Never had issues with cameras there. It's what the place is meant for.

Calgary is the fastest growing tech, finance, logistics and film industry hub.
That’s amazing 🙌🏻 Also heard its the best city to move to this year
Calgary needs to salt its roads 😐
@@Dogeyess salt doesn’t work below -10C
The people of Calgary use the +15s in the winter so they dont have to walk around in the cold.
That makes sense🙂 We wouldn’t want to be in the cold either🥶
Its quite ingenious, if you live in certain places downtown you never have to go outside. And thats lovely when its -47 with the wind chill
Go Calgary!
Wohoo!🙌🇨🇦
Hello my new friend, nice to meet you.
Nice to meet you too!😊
Downtown where you were in Calgary, most everything closes early!!! Everyone lives outside of downtown in the suburbs!!!!!
My city
Bike routes must be epic in the city!🚴✨
@@NatandMax i mean Motorcycle in summer and yeah i also do bicycle fishcreek to downtown 👌🏻
Oh haha sorry😂 We should’ve gotten the hint from your profile picture here on youtube😅
I work in that building next to high park. We call it the narcist mile. Seriously do those people not think people can see them.
Very good Vlog, i enjoyed it, you have motivated me more to come and to live in Calgary With my wife and my daughter.

That’s awesome! Calgary is a beautiful city and we’re sure you’re going to love it too when you do live there😊❤️
17:23 I subscribed!
Thank you for subscribing! Welcome to the fam!😊❤️
Wait? They were not going to let you near the Devonian Gardens with a camera? Unfortunately I think you just ran into a mean person. Never had issues with cameras there. It's what the place is meant for.
Haha maybe😅 That’s okay. Good thing we had a backup camera😊 Saw other people filming there too but they were using their phones.
@@NatandMax yeah, sorry that really surprised me. It's been a few years since I have been there, so perhaps things have changed.
Calgary is cool but Devonian Garden is really overrated
I live in Calgary😊
That’s awesome!😊 Looking forward to visiting again❤️
Calgary
Lions stand guard
Protect the bridge's past
As waters rush beneath my path
Chinatown greets me
As the bus speeds past
Art is everywhere if you look up
As the crowd look down alas
Oh Calgary, how you tease me
With your complicated downtown
I walk against the crowd
A mixture of pity and proud
Name-dropping conversations
and telephone sounds
Smells of cologne and brisket
BarBQing where deals and meals meet
Not far announcements
Of the upcoming Stampede
Security stands guard
Darkened doors silent Marquis
No one blinks an eye
On this busy street
Where secrets are spoken
I have walked several miles
Yet ended up where I started
As the bells announced
the trains going past
And I followed business
clones all dressed in black
Tailored uniforms
of financial pasts
I sat down craving the beer
Announced on every corner
Not taken over by oil Barron's
long renown for their behavior
Where bankers meet
White summertime
snow flows as the
night emperor knows
And his jester pushes his cart
Bottles picked all over the park
To pay the devil what he owes
Keeps what it takes and both push
For it's stakes are high
As they are prey to the
Lord of another kind
Songs and the media don't mind
Glamorizing the lifestyle
So many addicts
in the pinpoint of an eye
It's a cat and sewer rat's game
While cops drive on by
Not seeing the quick handshakes
At the speed of rattlesnakes
Just as their venomous bites
Finds another one to die
I like calgary
That’s awesome! We like it too😊
These were not the the top thngs to do in calgary sorry you have missed the top things to do such as going to the olympic park and goingbto nicks steak house and going to the mall and going for pizza and going to the irish pub also in the city and going to the saddledome and going to the cinnamon shop at the mall and going to banff and looking around and going to the top swimming bath hotel in banff and also seeing the hospital and where heartbeat was filmed in calgary and going to the stampede and also going to the jewish cafe for breakfast in town
Typical city life. I live in Toronto, btw.
Also, is that a Filipino accent?
Yep! Proud Filipinos here 🇵🇭
I seen something the other day in Calgary you don’t see very offen, it was a white person in a car next to me
Nooo don’t wear the helmet. I got lice. Had to get shampoo treatments weekly other option was to shave my head. Glad you enjoyed the city though,
Oh noo😬 We didn’t even think about that. Hope we didn’t pick up some😕 Thanks for the caution😊
Oh you guys didn't even listen to c0-3x
Oh man how sad to see the emptyness that has become of downtown. I hope with all the recent apartments built it will lure in more people to downtown living as a paltry 10k or so in the cbd is just abysmal..

You're definitely not from Calgary. You are dressed for -20 weather. -2 is hoodie weather. Lol
