Yeah 100% and he was a great coach for his girls. I wish we could have seen what he would've done with the 2nd half of his life, I don't think he would have gone back to the NBA though. He quenched his thirst for that with 60 I reckon lol. He would have encouraged from the sidelines like he did with Rob now being our GM but he was starting to lay the foundations for a just as great legacy in his storytelling passion

Gil said Kobe was the idol of his generation and Jordan was the ideal of our parents generation. I disagree. I was born in 1980. From 92-98 when the bulls were winning (overall) I was 12-18. So I saw Jordan do his thing in person. 55 at the Garden, I was there. I’m less than 2 years younger than Kobe.

@@hendrixlynch5918 you aren't a hooper though.. he saw Kobe as someone he could aspire to be because he was older than him but not old enough where he only saw an aging legend like Michael.. @@Kayodoms I’m not a hopper?! I definitely am. What would make you say that? Jordan as an aging legend? My point was Jordan was just hitting his prime when I was growing up. Jordan was only in the league a handful of years when he started winning. All I am saying is, at the age I am, and Gil was, we should have seen both enter the league and reach prime status. Same with Lebron. I understand the hoopers now that are 18-23 (or so) saying they grew up on Kobe and Jordan was passed tense.

You're right. Gil was born in 1980 too, I think. And he is speaking as though Kobe was a lot older than him that he grew up idolizing. When in reality, Kobe was only two years older than him. MJ or the players of his generation should have been the ones that Arenas grew up idolizing because Kobe and Gilbert were in the same generation.

No one is going to give it to you unless you want to earn it sincerely
When We look for others for advice and they see something special in you, you gotta trust in that advice and know that it's true, you got it in you. What you going to do about it?
Be confident that you can do it, take the challenge, help other share the skills you learned, and enjoy the experience.
