Those 8T machines are super strong for their size. You can do a lot with them, as you've shown here. I ran into some problems with the thumb of my 8T machine. I think it was installed incorrectly. The upper pin broke under normal actuation and then the cylinder ate itself. It was a disaster and cost me over $5k to repair. This was a brand new Strickland thumb on a brand new Case CX80C. The host machine was great, but the thumb was a high dollar POS. I would advise you to keep an eye on the limits of the thumb cylinder motion and make sure they aren't binding on max extension or retraction. Just my $0.02.... I hope you are well. You are one of the good ones.
Thank you very much. I'm sorry to hear about your thumb problems. I will keep an eye out for binding. Thank you for watching, and have a wonderful evening 😀
Sorry to hear about your window. That's the kind of luck I have. Im loving the power of the 80. I'm pretty sure my 40 would take at least twice the time the time to do what your 80 did and I'm not sure it could load the heavy stumps on the truck. Nice video.
Thank you very much. No the 40 would have really struggled with this job. And the 40 definitely wouldn't have loaded them in the truck. Thank you for watching, and have a wonderful evening 😀
Sad to see the new 080 damaged. Still better to have a window break than sheet metal bent. Easier to make it look perfect again with just the cost of the glass replacement. Those were some big stumps.
It stinks but could have been worse. You can replace the glass and never know anything happened, where as other damage would be there to see every time you looked at the machine. Not cheap but fixable. Keep up the great videos, you have a real talent on those excavators.
sorry (see below).....a major angular change? In other words, to avoid "scrubbing" the tracks to achieve the same angular change? Or, is this to avoid tearing up the ground? Thanks
I prefer the narrow bucket over the ripper, the ripper doesn't dig. Most of the stumps I dig have to be dug deep around. Thanks for watching and have a wonderful day 😊
Jeramy: Would/can you please explain where and why you use the "jump turn" when maneuvering your machine? Do you do this to avoid straining the undercarriage when needing a major angusing your tracks
@@jeramyreberpuredirt7873 Thank you Jeramy! Sorry about your broken window. You're so careful with your equipment, I know it really stings when you do damage to it. Good thing is it will be good as new, once it's replaced! 🙂
@tlv7257 thank you very much. Yes it was very upsetting to me. But at least it was just a window. It could have been much worse. Have a wonderful evening 😀
That's quite the stump graveyard. The 80 sure beats the 5 snatch blocks, 150' of cable, 3 straps, 2 chains, and running start with the tractor method. 🤠 Sorry about the window. At least it was a 100% fixable cosmetic (although expensive) issue.
I would like one on the 80. Right now, until I can recover from purchasing the 80 I am not buying anything. But I would very much like one. Maybe one of the manufacturers would want to sponsor me with one 🤔 have a wonderful evening, and thanks for watching 🙂
@kidhenderson8260 yes it sounds like It is running slow and I keep checking to be sure the dial is turned all the way up, and it is. But yes it runs much smoother than the 40. Have a wonderful evening 😀
I don't on this machine. It cost me about $600. To fix. The premium on this machine through ktac was $278. A month. It was still much cheaper to replace the window myself. I am a fan of ktac, though. Thanks for watching, and have a wonderful day 😊
@@jeramyreberpuredirt7873 yes KTAC is more expensive than regular insurance, but I’ve learned the hard way that it is well worth it! I had a limb fall and crush both engine covers on my kx057-5 and it was an over $16k and KTAC covered it no questions asked for $250 deductible. I only paid $12k for the insurance in the financing. I’ll never have another kubota without it
You sure cleaned that place up. It was a mess with all the stumps and wood.
Yes, it definitely was a mess. Thank you for watching, and have a wonderful weekend 😀

Man that sucks! I don’t have an enclosed machine but if I do someday that would be one of my biggest fears is breaking glass.
It's my first time breaking a window but it does suck. Thanks for watching and have a wonderful day 😊

Yes it made me sick. And yes no body damage, so that is good. Have a wonderful day 😊
Stumps stumps and more stumps. Lots of fun😂
Yes, they were tough, too. Thanks for watching 🙂
Awesome Job!!
Thank you very much ❤️ Have a wonderful evening, and thank you for 👀

Have you tried a frost tooth and if so how do they work compared to a narrow bucket?

I mainly use it when there is a lot of strain on the tracks while trying to turn. Hopefully that answered your question. Have a wonderful day 😊

Just curious as to why you’ve never put on a tilt bucket

Are you running the machine at full throttle?
Yes
@@jeramyreberpuredirt7873 Thanks...just didn't sound like it but the bigger machines run smoother I guess. Good stuff.

Is there a place that you can adjust the speed on the thumb
The only place I know of is in the computer, and it is turned up all the way. It's a little frustrating.
That’s a lot of stumps in a small area.
Yes, it was. Thank you for watching. Have a wonderful evening 😀
That was a mess !

Would you mind telling me how to get some of those pin guards for the quick attach pin ?
