This is my favorite thus far. What a wonderful slice in time to be recorded for their little one🥰 I started a little journal a couple of nights before my daughter was born. I wanted her to know how much she was (is) wanted and loved just in case I perished during delivery. I was apprehensive to celebrate too soon afterwards. As soon as I put my relief that we were both on the other side of the delivery, thriving, into a string of words onto paper, it happened: the doctor messed up (4 days later) and I almost met my maker...again😒. The pain was the most agonizing thing I have ever physically felt (& I've been through 2 emergency open heart surgeries). Yet being separated from my daughter for a month was even worse. The physical pain has faded (mostly) & is just a vivid afterthought chiseled into my memory. My angel baby is 2 months old and I can't help but pine for that first month I missed; which is why I had stopped writing to her for a bit. I have been bombarded with an amalgamation of indescribable love bursting through every semblance of my being, anger, aggravation and intermittent sadness. However, two days ago, my perfect princess looked up at me with the biggest eyes and brightest, most beautiful smile then let out a soft laugh. That's when I remembered why I began writing in the hospital to begin with: it's for her, not for me. Halsey puts her love for her angel baby into words so beautifully. I just want my daughter to know that regardless of what life may bring to her, she is the best thing in, and about, this world. I may not put my feelings (etc) nearly as eloquently, but she'll know...
As of now I am so afraid of getting pregnant and the stuff u go throw while pregnancy and not wanting to have child in future but everytime i listen to this song I feel like wanting kids and this strange motherly feeling arises in my heart.
I had my baby girl a week before she had her Ender so of course this song has been our bedtime song. Holding my girl while she naps and watching this (on repeat lol) and I get tears in my eyes everytime.
Halsey's live singing always hits different.... transports you to a place where the morning fog is lifting over a creek as it trickles past a meadow- type of different.
