The universe has no power over you nor does it decide anything, rather it is God Himself, the LORD JESUS alone has power over everything. This comment was made because of the part that says (I am paraphrasing) "They universe showing you what it has something for you."
God can be referred to as the universe showing you something, it all means the same thing, going into semantics does not change the original message of inspiration.
