- Barbara Hannigan dirige l'Orchestre philharmonique de Radio France avec Julia Dawson, Ziad Nehme et Douglas Williams dans le ballet Pulcinella, composé par Igor Stravinsky en 1919-20. Extrait du concert donné à la Philharmonie de Paris le 28 mai 2021.
En 1919, le scandale du Sacre du printemps était déjà loin lorsque Diaghilev fit de nouveau appel à son compositeur fétiche. Deux ans plus tôt, les Ballets russes avaient présenté un spectacle sur des pièces de Scarlatti, Les Femmes de bonne humeur, dans un arrangement de Tomasini. Cette fois-ci, Diaghilev jeta son dévolu sur Pergolèse, vieux maître de l’école napolitaine de l’opera buffa, célèbre en France pour être devenu, après sa mort, le protagoniste de la Querelle des Bouffons. Diaghilev en avait récolté diverses partitions en Italie et en Angleterre. L’argument ? Un prétexte. Pulcinella plaît à toutes les jeunes filles, mais attise la jalousie des garçons. Ceux-ci s’apprêtant à se débarrasser de lui, il imagine un échange de masques avec un compagnon, puis réapparaît, déguisé en magicien, afin de ressusciter son double malmené, avant de permettre à tout le monde de trouver son compte dans un grand mariage.

The orchestra is conducting Barbara very well. She is a good follower and dancer on stage
THAT is a sure mark of Genius. natural Genius. When the director disappears in front of the Orchestra for the sake of transparency. i just love her
Unless you know for a fact that the orchestra imposed their ideas to her during the rehearsals, your remark is meaningless. How she stands and moves on the podium says nothing on what happened then. And by the way, her direction is not unlike that of some relaxed and histrionic directors. (Which I prefer to those who mimicshaping what happens on stage at every second. They don't.)
@@MrLenoir99 The really hard work is done in rehearsals anyway. If everyone is thoroughly prepared, the actual performance gives the impression of effortlessness, regardless of the conductor.

Wunderschöne Aufführung dieser pseudobarockischen doch perfekt komponierten Suite mit herrlichen Stimmen dreier genialen Solisten sowie gut phrasierten doch perfekt entsprechenden Tönen aller Instrumente. Die intelligente und ebenso geniale Dirigentin leitet das hoch funktionelle Orchester im lebhaften Tempo und mit künstlerisch kontrollierter Dynamik. Einfach wunderbar!
Wonderful performance! It’s good to have another account of the complete ballet on YT. Though I prefer the complete score; IMHO, the Suite uploaded by the Frankfurt RSO a few weeks back is not to be missed.

Un peu de XVIIIe siècle après l'horreur de la Guerre Mondiale ça devait faire du bien. Stravinski joue le jeu strictement. L'auteur du Sacre : surprise ! Comme Ravel dans le Tombeau de Couperin. Que c'est beau et fait du bien.

Dio mio ma quel tenorino con la vocina ingolata e chioccia dove lo hanno trovato? Invece la direzione della Hannigan è straordinaria. Orchestra altrettanto magnifica
J'adore Pulcinella, et je trouve que cette direction produit un son plein de souplesse qui catalyse la tendresse omniprésente dans l'oeuvre. Seul petit bémol : peut-être est-ce mon oreille qui déconne, mais le ténor me semble chanter très souvent trop bas, ce qui fut plus que dérangeant dans mon écoute...
Mais il est simplement un très mauvais chanteur, il n'a pas de voix du tout.
elle est trés sexy et agreable a regarder, elle a des petits gestes adorables...je suis fan!
et de superlativement beaux pantalons !
