It's traditional in de sense of African. Native Americans from surinam would play different music, as well as Indians and Java people.

'Mi Libi A No, J'a Wan Kama' (el corte número 6) fue un éxito de las verbenas aquí en Barranquilla. De hecho, para facilitar la pronunciación de su nombre, se le bautizó con el piconema de 'La cumbia africana', aunque es bien sabido que esto fue realizado en Surinam.

Dit album een week geleden ontdekt. Dit is echt genieten. Ben blij dat er ook nummers tussen zitten die vroeger de groep Maisa bij de STVS ten gehore bracht.

BAKA WAN YARI - Ik heb altijd gedacht dat dit lied ging over de Onafhankelijkheid van Suriname. Ik kan me namelijk herinneren dat verwonderd werd gesproken over het nieuwe woord 'Srefidensi'.Ook waren er heftige discussies over de vraag welke bevolkingsgroep dan moest regeren, want toen was het nog zo dat Creolen erg negatief dachten over het eigen kunnen.
