Guys, the list is made basing the price of a pound (I think it's probably half a kg). Of course these spices are affordable for everyone, because no one buys half a kg of saffron... the thing that makes them expensive is the proportion between price and weight.
You forgot real Wasabi; which edges-out Vanilla for 2nd place, and you can't pay attention to listed prices, because Wasabi is so rare that high-end Japanese restaurants buy it all, so it's hard to get. It should be count too, because it is a rare type of Mustard
90% of the world saffron (zafaran) is grown in Iran. Spain buys in bulk from Iran and sell in nice package. Not to mention the best quality is from Qa'enat Iran.
