- The 2024 BMW 4 Series Convertible Brings Open-Air Fun with Sporty Style
BMW has unveiled the latest generation of its 4 Series Convertible, bringing updated styling, new tech features, and refined performance to the two-door drop-top. As the more style-focused alternative to the practical 3 Series, the new 4 Series Convertible aims to deliver an enticing blend of luxury, excitement and driving pleasure.
On the outside, the new 4 Series Convertible sports BMW's latest design language with a large vertical kidney grille, slim LED headlights, and a long hood flowing into a tapered rear. Subtle creases along the bodywork and 19-inch wheels add to the sporty flair. New LED taillights with intricate 3D laser graphics give this convertible serious visual pop. Eight colors are offered including new hues like Fire Red metallic and BMW Individual special paints.
Inside, the driver-focused cockpit looks thoroughly modernized with the new BMW Curved Display incorporating a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and 14.9-inch touchscreen. The infotainment system runs BMW's latest iDrive 8 software for slick navigation, entertainment and vehicle controls. Sport seats, ambient lighting, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and aluminum or carbon fiber trim convey the upscale ambience. The multi-layer convertible soft top can fully open or close in just 18 seconds while traveling under 30 mph. With the top down, the 4 Series Convertible provides a stylish grand touring experience for four.
The new 4 Series Convertible offers a choice of powerful and efficient turbocharged engines. The base 430i is motivated by a punchy 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 255 horsepower, hitting 60 mph in 5.5 seconds. For stronger acceleration, the M440i utilizes a 3.0-liter inline-six pumping out 382 hp for a swift 4.3-second sprint to 60 mph. Rear-wheel drive comes standard across the range, and xDrive all-wheel drive is optional. An eight-speed automatic transmission and sport-tuned chassis deliver a dynamic driving experience with engaging handling.
On the tech front, the 4 Series Convertible offers a full suite of modern driver assistance features like blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane keeping assist, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and more. Upgrades like adaptive cruise control, automated parking, a surround view camera and augmented reality navigation provide next-level functionality.
With its updated style, refined cabin, smart tech and enjoyable performance, the new 4 Series Convertible looks to continue winning over buyers seeking luxury and excitement in a sleek open-top package. Pricing starts around $65,000 when the new 4 Series Convertible hits showrooms in early 2024, giving competitors like the Audi A5 Cabriolet and Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet a stylish new rival.
