- Every Shot of a 13 Handicap Golfer's Round [Penmaenmawr]
A round of golf at Penmaenmawr golf club in North Wales. It's a 9-hole par 34 course which measures 2717 yards from the yellow tees.
The round cost £12 in April 2022. For 18 holes via the 2nd sets of tees the cost is £25.
I'm James, a golfer with a dodgy swing playing off a 13 hcp. I'm looking to break 90 every time I tee up. Even if I don't shoot a good score I always enjoy strolling around the fairways of North Wales, UK :-)
I like to play lots of different courses and today it's at the scenic (but very hilly) Penmaenmawr golf course.

Stunning views on this course but as you say need to be a bit of a mountain goat!still striking the ball really well and as for bunker shots it’s probably the one part of the game that no-one practices.your injury doesn’t seem to have bothered you and hopefully it won’t flair up again.take care and well played!

Love the content as I feel like I am playing with your camera work and commentary. Also on the 9th hole the club face was not open enough in my opinion causing you to thin the bunker shot.

something like the cleveland CBX 2's still have plenty of forgiveness without being massively chunky like your current SW.
300 yard drives that’s some going what speed do you swing the driver at ? I had a driver lesson and just can’t get over 100mph so my drives only carry 250
James usually drives between 190 and 220 yards. Those holes were hugely down hill.
That 250 carry would have gotten you over 350 easily on that downhill slope, never mind the total when watching other golfers play a real course. The computer doesn't compare to reality, it's only a guide, there's a lot more variables in real life.

can you make a video with a Trackman or something similar I would be interested in how you hit your driver and how much club head speed you have.
Great suggestion, I have already done this as someone else requested the same kind of video. I went to a Toptracer range and hit all my clubs and the vid will be released this Tuesday. Ball speed / launch angle / height / flat carry etc for all my clubs. Spoiler alert: I didn't hit the driver 280+ lol :-)
@@notaperfectgolfer3489 but you have very good consistency in your shots, which is very important in golf. do you also take part in beginner's tournaments at some point and film them?
The hilly courses always account for one or two strokes on your card, James. No shame in that. The more you play them, the better your score will get. Your sculled bunker shot is what we call a “sclaff” where you’re just scraping the ground (sand) and not hitting ball first. Sculled. No biggie. Keep practicing.

300 yard drive and bunker shots like that... your improvement is that fast we can see it happening right infront of our eyes.

Sorry my friend you seem like a nice guy but I really don't believe the Tracer. 289 yard drive on the third hole with a swing like that - it's simply not possible.
