I agree with her that " traditional banking" for retail is dead and I too hate would rather visit the dentist. Traditional banking should be scaled to level that is acceptable to retail.
some context is needed. this tedx was at a bussiness school so the target audience were aspiring entreprenuers and basic business types. the presentation isn't helpful for actually learning about digital banking
There's nothing revolutionary here at all. It's just the implementation of technologies that will replace a human teller. Basically, more tech, fewer jobs. In today's society, the smartest amongst us are spreading their wealth decentrally across platforms that pay interest rates that are several orders magnitude higher than any high street bank would pay on capital balances, simply by converting fiat assets into cryptocurrencies. So if people are moving away from centrally ran banks and fewer and fewer people are being employed by banks as we move into the future, then the only 'Revolution in Digital Banking' that I can think of is that we will be able to do away with banks altogether; which is ironic given that "fintech has made banking execs start again from scratch in their career paths and mindsets".
When the inevitable hack occurs, it is better to go to a branch than trying to solve electronically or by phone. Better still, don't do online banking.
lol some people are here for a lecture This is a light experience sharing platform and I learned from it too. Change leaders should consider starting from scratch when the old way of doing things is outdated. I don’t know about non of ya but I get it.
We have ditched the digital banking and only go to bank branches now. We pay bills at the post office or send a cheque. When it comes to a link from our own device to our money - no way. Like we see it with medibank and FTX, digital is not safe. Every wall one man can build, another man can tear down. Try again, fintech, I do not want complicated multilevel, always changing procedures. Too much work!

Well this lady is great in SELF PROMOTION.
Good talk she is right about how the banking industry is changing. Years from now most people will not need to go to a branch anymore.
good one....customer is the king....know your customers and their aspirations....the key..
I love listening her story.

Wtf. She’s able to talk so much about nothing. Everything is about her and nothing about digital bank. Such a waste of time!
