I'd recommend taking the 87 bus from outside Charing Cross train station. It goes past many landmarks including Trafalgar square, along the Strand, down Whitehall, past Downing Street, the cenotaph, Churchill war rooms, up to parliament square for big ben and Westminster abbey, then along to Tate Britain. I used to work at Horseferry Road and would get this bus everyday. Really good route for tourists and a lot cheaper than one of those city tour buses
I also recommend using the buses. On my last visit to London I ended up using the buses far more than the tube and I found that I gained a better intuitive appreciation of the layout of the city (how far between places, where things were relative to each other, noticing details I never saw before). Admittedly, the tube is often the faster option, and if the weather is bad it might be more pleasant being underground, but in the tube all you see is a dark tunnel. On a nice day consider taking the bus.
@@loveandlondonTrue i do like buses a bit more than trains even if buses are longer only because on buses your more likely to more get a seat than stand on the trains.

Great videos as always :) One tip is that when you get on the bus you don’t have to say where you go, you can simply tap-in your contactless payment card and take the seat for as long as you want. London buses have a single fare across the entire city, so you could take a bus from the edges of London to the centre for the same price as for a journey from one bus stop to the next. This is in response to your comment at timestamp 4:35.
I wholeheartedly agree about the Houses of Parliament tour. It’s one of the best things I’ve done on any of my trips to London. If you can get in to see a debate in the Commons, those can be fun to watch too.
I'm happy I've just discovered your channel. I was in London last year in July and I absolutely loved the city. The architecture (narrow streets, terraced houses, bay windows), unique shops' decorations, flowers, squares, buses, ferries and food. And I met friendly and helpful people. I hope to come back one day.
Speaking as a native born Londoner, I can confirm that your channel is the most accurate tourist tour guide channel. Millions of tourists especially Americans spend hundreds and hundreds of unnecessary dollars/pounds when in London or the UK. By following the wrong TH-camrs. Your comment about not buying a "one day travel card" in another video is spot on. You should only buy this ticket/option if you know for certain you will be doing extensive travelling across all four zones, and constantly jumping on and of buses trains and the "Tube". That is making dozens of separate trips in one 24 hour period. The contactless payment on your credit card if it is "contactless" is the best option for a single trip or one or two maybe three single trips in one day. Also the Oyster card is not always the best option. Even though it is widely advertised. For single trips, tap you credit card onto the machine and tap out at the end, you will be charged a much cheaper fare for the single trip. Especially after 9.00am and weekends. Some ticket options are not cheap in the evening if you are travelling out between about 5.00pm and 7.00pm this is because that is the commuters going home rush hour. Although in the centre for the past Forty years Rush Hour has been almost for 24 hours each day. Keep up the good work.
For sure, and as your comment also illustrates they’re in lots of neighborhoods. Visitors don’t have to crowd into Borough, Camden, and Portobello markets with everyone else.
I’m going to London for the first time in early May, and I’ve been binge-watching videos on your channel! Thank you for your informative videos on London! 🫶🏻

I think my most memorable night in the "only do this in London" category; started in a busy Swedish pub watching sweden choose their eurovision song on live swedish TV, then a short bus journey to a Tiki bar at Hilton Park Lane for cocktails (we saw the bar as the bus passed so we got off), then back on the same bus route, another 15min to a late cabaret pub/club in an old rough pub with performances including nude acrobatic poetry reading!
Bus 24 also shows some great London. Starts down at Pimlico and ends at Hampstead Heath after going through central London and also Camden Lock as well.
Last november, my wife and I we visiting St Paul's cathedral for the morning eucharist, then we heading to the tower of London for a tour there. We thought about getting a taxi or uber, but I really wanted to take an icon double-decker bus, ( we're both from Australia, btw), but most are the modern kind and look like a tourist coach. Just as we were figuring out what to do, a 1960's bus turned up complete with a Cockney conducter wearing a peaked cap. It made my day 😊

Great video. Fun fact on Brook Street in London there are 2 Blue Plaques on adjoining buildings one for George Frideric Handel and the other for Jimi Hendrix. Also there are loads of interesting statues including the very modest one of George Washington outside the National Gallery. PS. some viewers might need to be reminded the Beatles crossing on Abbey Road is nowhere near Abbey Road Station on the DLR
Those buildings are now a museum, called the Handel and Hendrix Museum, you can go inside and see recreations of their homes and learn more about them! Thanks for watching
There is a service A bus that uses 1960’s Routemaster buses 7 days a week, it runs from Waterloo to Piccadilly Circus 7 days a week and you can buy a single fare for £2 between 9-5

It's always worth mentioning that the Abbey Road recording studios are nowhere near the Abbey Road DLR station in West Ham. Fortunately there is an information board at the DLR station showing lost tourists how to find the zebra crossing, but it's seven miles away. The tube stop you're looking for, Beatles fans, is St John's Wood.

Greenwich is awesome! You could spend a whole afternoon there: there's the Royal Observatory with the Prime Meridian (the line goes up to the Plume Of Feathers bar on Park Vista), The Queen's House, the National Maritime Museum, the Cutty Sark, and the Greenwich Foot Tunnel under the Thames for the weird experience.
I m Indian girl and i want to come 😊in London but i have born in India so it will be late to come there. it's my life i will go to London as soon as possible ❤
Hi Jess...ever thought of doing stuff where USA visitors can see the links between UK and USA...thinking William Penn grave , Runnymede (magna carta / JFK memorial) & Ww1 US service personnel graves at Brookwood cemetery .
My travel agent offered to book me a hop on hop off London bus tour in May and I was able to say I'd rather save the money and take the #11 bus instead
fyi - If you don't feel like paying the high entry fee for the meridian line you can follow the fence around and the line continues and there's a better sign than the one inside!
Though the angles make it really hard to get good photographs, so it might be worth paying to go in. The admission is for the whole Royal Observatory, not just the meridian line, and it's a great museum for the sort of geek who wants a picture on the meridian line (hi!). 😀
@@digitig there's a bit around the side that shows the line going down the wall and over the path - you can take a pic with that, it doesn't have to be through the gate :) but understand if you want the museum !
Gosh. Visiting in November will mean very changeble weather but nothing extreme. It will be jumper weather and you will need a jacket. London has so many visitor attractions, and therefore cover, so an umbrella maybe useful but just bring a fold up handbag size. I think the thing you will notice the most is the shorter days. It's fine but there will be no evening sun. I hope that is helpful. I live about 80 miles west of London. I love it there. In fact I'm going there this weekend with my wife to see an immersive theatre production about the Gunpowder Plot (please Google) and I can't wait. However, please note that London is expensive. I hope you have a wonderful time.
Flip flops and budgie smugglers is your best bet 🤣. Seriously though I'd suggest sturdy footwear, waterproof coat and buy the rest when you get here if you need to
Dress in easily removable layers if you plan to take the Underground. I was there a couple of weeks ago, and it was 60F outside and probably 85F down in the Victoria Line.
I love what you do and helping people. Could you please make a video or even suggest a romantic tour for couples like niche things or experiences . Thanks.
SO....in February/March 2023...I'll be visiting UK for a month. Much of that time will be spent traveling, by train, all over England/Scotland, but, I will be starting off with THREE days in London. Will be sure to get the 101 Book! As of right now, I think I'am going to be at a hotel in Chelsea. Though, open to suggestions. Brooklands - the original race circuit Silverstone, about an hour & half north, both have museums & websites There's a McLaren dealership in Knightsbridge, that sometimes has an F1 car on display - not worth a visit, but if you're nearby. Also could be something at the Science Museum.
I lived in London from the mid 90s to mid noughties. Watching this makes me nostalgic and want to move back. But the cost of housing there (and cost of living in general), and the expensive, unreliable public transport.. ugh:(
I’m staying in Britton, but missed one day on my reservation so have to do one “outside” day. I planned to stay in shoreditch (expensive) and currently have booked a day in Greenwich…is soho a better choice for one day of exploring? I’m not a typical tourist…and it’s not my first time to London
Hi Jess, what are your suggestions for first time London travelers that will be spending 24 hours there like us. We're going to Paris next summer and we plan on taking the Eurostar out of Gare du Nord ay 9 in the morning, spend the day in London, sleep over and visit some more the next day and take the 6pm train back to Paris. There's already a few spots we want to check out like Buckingham Palace, the Beatles crosswalk, the London Transport Museum and have real deal OG fish and chips in a non touristy area. Of course we'll ride a double decker TfL bus and I'll be photographing a lot of them as well. I'll be checking out more videos from your channel. Cheers and Happy New Year from Montreal, QC Canada!
That's such a short amount of time! We have hundreds of videos with recommendations of things to do (we focus more on stuff that's off the beaten track) or you could use two days of the 3-Day London Itinerary: shop.loveandlondon.com/products/3-day-london-itinerary
I learned the hard way in Dublin that when the bus is coming you basically have to flag it down. I saw you put your arm out , so do you have to wave a city bus down also?
Fun fact, Canada also has red (and a couple pink) double decker buses. They're just an older style, and used mostly for tours instead of public transportation.
I'd recommend taking the 87 bus from outside Charing Cross train station. oh thank you for the wonderful information .
Thanks! I’m staying right off Horseferry Road ( Maunsel Street) and was wondering how to get there ( I’ll be arriving from Oxford )

I m Indian girl and i want to come 😊in London but i have born in India so it will be late to come there. it's my life i will go to London as soon as possible ❤
Thanks for the video Jess! Perfect timing, my sister and I just got into town today! My first time in London since 2019.
Have a great time!!! Thanks for watching.
Great video! 👍
Thanks for watching!
Hi Jess...ever thought of doing stuff where USA visitors can see the links between UK and USA...thinking William Penn grave , Runnymede (magna carta / JFK memorial) & Ww1 US service personnel graves at Brookwood cemetery .
We have viewers from all over the world so that one is probably too niche but a nice idea anyways. Thanks for watching Mark!
Beautiful city
My travel agent offered to book me a hop on hop off London bus tour in May and I was able to say I'd rather save the money and take the #11 bus instead
Nice!
Looks like you have been to Hoppers in soho . Brilliant food
Love hoppers but I think the clip you are referencing is at Paradise which is AMAZING
fyi - If you don't feel like paying the high entry fee for the meridian line you can follow the fence around and the line continues and there's a better sign than the one inside!
@@LarryS378 Yes, that's the path I was thinking of. It's narrow, so very hard to get an angle that shows clearly what's going on!
@@digitig good point
You can do the second one in lots of places. All around the globe.
But we're London 😎
@@loveandlondonBut it's not something you can only do in London..
Visiting London for the first time next month! Any tips for dressing for London Autumn/Winter? Love from Australia x
@@colinlovell3098 Thanks for the tips!
Flip flops and budgie smugglers is your best bet 🤣. Seriously though I'd suggest sturdy footwear, waterproof coat and buy the rest when you get here if you need to
I have clothing reccs and packing lists in my London Packing Guide! shop.loveandlondon.com/products/london-packing-guide
Dress in easily removable layers if you plan to take the Underground. I was there a couple of weeks ago, and it was 60F outside and probably 85F down in the Victoria Line.
At the end of your video, where are you? The background looks very nice.
You actually have to go inside the building to be at the actual prime Meridian. And I don’t know if just anyone can go in that part of the building.
Awesome video.
Thanks for watching Parkash!
@@loveandlondon Lots of love and best wishes.
Could you please do an updated hotel picks video now that we're out of Covid 🥰

Grosvenor hotel, now named Clermont Victoria Stn. The hotel has a back door from their lobby right into Victoria Station.
I ❤ LONDON
I love what you do and helping people. Could you please make a video or even suggest a romantic tour for couples like niche things or experiences . Thanks.

SO....in February/March 2023...I'll be visiting UK for a month. Much of that time will be spent traveling, by train, all over England/Scotland, but, I will be starting off with THREE days in London. Will be sure to get the 101 Book!
As of right now, I think I'am going to be at a hotel in Chelsea. Though, open to suggestions. Want a location that is easily accessible, as I'll be doing some sightseeing, along with seeing friends ALL OVER the city and surrounding area.
Hi Ron, definitely check out our 3-Day London Itinerary: shop.loveandlondon.com/products/3-day-london-itinerary and all of our accommodation tips and suggestions can be found here: loveandlondon.com/category/london-accommodations/
Thanks. nicely done presentation..just bought 2 tickets for mousetrap!

Thanks for all your videos. I am planning on coming to London in April 2023. Can you please tell me which pub in London is frequented by Arsenal fans. I am huge fan of Arsenal Football club.
The Gunner's Pub Highbury is one, but there are plenty of others.
Great video! What is the location that you are right at the end of the video?
Lovely vlog
Thanks for watching!
Thank you
4:51 lol at the the name of the theater show.... ((immature giggle))🙂
hehehhehe
Is there anything for the F1 fan in or near London? Thanks for such helpful videos.
Thanks for watching Nick! ummm I don't know to be honest!
Brooklands - the original race circuit
Silverstone, about an hour & half north, both have museums & websites
There's a McLaren dealership in Knightsbridge, that sometimes has an F1 car on display - not worth a visit, but if you're nearby. Also could be something at the Science Museum.
Will be looking into bus 11
Or number 9
What is your experience with London Theater Direct :)
I have considered ordering through there.
I was in London in August for my first visit.I already miss the great city of LONDON !!!
:) Thanks for watching!
Nice compact factual video 👍
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it Leonard!
Love love love it
Thanks for watching!
Thank you!!!!
Thanks for watching Kevin!
I do love heading around Victoria, so many great old pubs and bars for everyone to visit. A great place to go to a hidden bar called Arcade Apes.
We love unique experiences!
London is such a special city, unless you live or have to go there routinely.
Even if you live there, you'll still have those woahhhh moments
Hi Jess, big fan! I am in East London, would love to meet you in person someday
Thanks so much Sree! If you ever pass by me, please do say hello!
I lived in London from the mid 90s to mid noughties. Watching this makes me nostalgic and want to move back. But the cost of housing there (and cost of living in general), and the expensive, unreliable public transport.. ugh:(
Proud to call it my captital.
Same!
I’m staying in Britton, but missed one day on my reservation so have to do one “outside” day. I planned to stay in shoreditch (expensive) and currently have booked a day in Greenwich…is soho a better choice for one day of exploring? I’m not a typical tourist…and it’s not my first time to London
Hi! all of our accommodation tips are in this section of our website: loveandlondon.com/category/london-accommodations/
@Love and London I'll take a look at that when I get home from work later, thanks!
Awesome videos as usual, I am trying to do the same 💯
I am doing videos of London too, but I am a new kid on the block, with only a few subscribers. Help please 🙏
Is there some day or week pass?
I learned the hard way in Dublin that when the bus is coming you basically have to flag it down. I saw you put your arm out , so do you have to wave a city bus down also?
Yes!
Basically everywhere, not just Dublin or London. Although, there are some stops that are supposed to be mandatory, but why risk it?
You can only see Buckingham Palace from a number 11 bus if it's taken a wrong turning
AMAZING ;)
Fun fact, Canada also has red (and a couple pink) double decker buses. They're just an older style, and used mostly for tours instead of public transportation.
I love you late queen Elizabeth 💝
Do some videos about “chori bazar” THE THIEFS MARKET” known as British museum 😅
Literally just did one
