I've had the great pleasure of living on both side of the border. You got to realize how poor Mexico really is. Nurses, doctors, teachers, and other professions are not valued as they are in the US. I found myself breaking into abandoned homes and ripping out copper wiring from top to bottom to sell for money when living in the city of Juarez. This was at age 10 because my family was so poor. I didn't learn this from my family, I learned it on my own out of the wanting to help the situation. I was trying to be the one less mouth that needed to be feed. Can confirm, I'm in mexico, saw it today. The federal police drive in pick up trucks with machine guns mounted on top as well as standard issue smgs for carry. They look serious and it is the desert so maybe they need the pick up trucks.
