    Hi
Was born here in 1966 . Northampton is always my hometown. But over the years it's gone downhill . I'm living in denver CO usa . Came in 86 .

Hard to imagine positivity about Northampton now but plenty of the villages are beautiful. Such a shame that the town has been managed so terribly for 50 years.

the markets gone, houses are over priced, its a migrant drop off town now, charity shops run by co-operations, Parking is £1 per hour, late bars are over run by students from London & Birminham, who are drawn here by the cheaper uni prices, knife chrime has increaded. council tax is about £2000 per year.

Born here in '65. Used to be lovely. Now however, it's mostly a filthy pit, scruffy houses, litter everywhere. Immigration has ruined the town like it has in so many places. Sad!

That's perfect, it's always good to remember our past, and not get to carried away racing off into the future.
Northampton has a really colorful history and it's nice to be reminded of that every now and then. 👍

Northampton really was a great place to grow up. lots of clips from the Abington Vale area where I grew up! - Alas, it’s a different story now I hear.

Yes Northampton is a shadow of its former self these days unfortunately. Actually quite depressing to walk through the town centre now it's so empty. One time it was thriving. The boom years were the 60s and 70s.

I never know why they look on expansion as a good thing?

They wanted to dump a load of Londoners elsewhere & had to dress it up as a good thing to appease the locals!

My Northampton when it had a proper bus station, not half of one and before the Council decided to try to destroy the Market Square. Most of my family now moved away from the town as it is at present and would not go back.
