I loved Bob from his first album. I couldn’t believe that he would play with the Dead. I met Jerry in 1971 in Providence Rhode Island at my first show and I saw him sitting on the edge of the stage with his legs hanging over the side. I was one of the first people to come through and I saw Jerry sitting there with an unplugged guitar. I stood right in front of him and he smiled and I just asked him if I could sit behind the amps and he said yes. I made my way around the right side of it and made my way up to the first opening between the amps.and I come out next to Bear who was dropping liquid acid on the back of people’s hands and then they licked it off. I stuck my head out and he put four big drops on the back of my hand and I licked it off. By second song I was staring to get off. At the first set break I got up and walked around checking out the gear and the next thing is Jerry next to me holding out a big fat joint. We start passing it back and forth for several hits and I took a big and held it for just a few seconds and began having a crouching fist. Jerry is laughing at me.The second set is standing and I sit behind Pigpen.Bear hooks me up with his local dealer. The first hits I got were pale blue. This turned into more than 10 years that my best friend from high school and I made some money during this period. thanks Jerry ⚡️🎸⚡️
This was such an unbelievable show to be at! This was the Dead as Dylan’s backup band after they did a full 2 set show. It was amazing to soak it all in! Thank you!!!
I here you....kinda wish The Dead played 2 sets but it was a treat seeing Dylan, his singing is not my favorite ...but l respect his song writing.....him and Jerry were fellow musicians so l understand the comradery but Dylan's voice is grating after awhile so it was a rough. grateful l was there in Foxborrow was heavily dosed so it was definitely a trip never to forget l was 20...lm now 56...so it was awhile back Chris K, CT USA

And I'll tell you right now by the end of this concert Bob Dylan was hammered he tried singing Knocking on heaven's door and couldn't do it the dead had to take over for him
I was at that concert with wife and 6 month old child. The kid got stoned for the first time just breathing the air and wife covered my eyes every time a fem popped her top...
The Dead SUCK. Even Dylan himself has confessed this was a very low point in his life. He did say Garcia waa a true friend to him, so there's that. But, the Dead suck. Yeah, that's right, that's what i said.
Open your ears, Sir,.......... Sounds like they did their bit to ressurrect Dylan. Who then changed his guard. And went to the never ending tour.........

In the past I never liked Dylan nor the Dead, but I like this song! They did a good job.
the original album is M.Knopfler
Hell yea
I recommend the original. Knopfler plays on it.

I remember When Dylan Played Guitar
Jerry's guitar playing was off da hook on this tour. So many people knock this but I soooo appreciate that Dylan and the Dead happened.
So fire
How can you be this great??? I love Dylan more than life itself
🔥
Bob Dylan was in his Adam Sandler era
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Why on Earth are there only 7 songs on the Dylan & the Dead album?!?!?!
❤😊
I saw The Dead with Santana the years before or after can't remember lol
Love Maggies Farm!
Like it when men sing with Bob.
Does anyone have the changed lyrics for the "Foreign oil.." verse? I wish I could understand Bob lol.
Badassery
Rip Jerry Garcia.
Slow ending......😊
si sente che manca la chitarra del più grande genio Knopfler

You are totally wrong.
@@111Benzieyes I know I thought it said Gillette stadium in Massachusetts I was wrong that's the concert I was at when he was totally hammered
Bob messing up the lyrics 😂
Sloppy delivery from both the band and Dylan
I was at that concert with wife and 6 month old child. The kid got stoned for the first time just breathing the air and wife covered my eyes every time a fem popped her top...

You are entitled to your opinion (however misguided) - but you obviously don't know much about Dylan's attitude toward the Grateful Dead.
Bizarre quote
I use to know someone like you.
