But if you enrolled in their class you’d be blown away. I just started it and there is so much, Andy answers questions right away. You have access to their Anki decks which correspond to your progress and Yuki’s pronunciation. It’s more than worth it if you can try that sometime.

I don't have the book, but the way it was written on the screen looked like Mr. B was calling Mr. Ando a liar to Mr. A. I guess it's possible that Mr. Ando popped into their convo and called Mr. B a liar, but all the comments seem to be ragging on Mr. A unfairly as the one who said "uso" :P

But I thought I'd note it's loosely mentioned in the Noun + じゃない section of Genki I v3 on page 63 of the text book if anyone else ends up looking for it.

Thanks for the vids, pretty handy so far! I think the english usage of "huh" could fit as a good translation of ね. "apples are sweet huh". It also seeks confirmation but using "right" in that way typically implies a certain degree of uncertainty in the speaker, "apples are sweet, right?" that "huh" doesn't.
And of course right after I write this comment you use huh as a translation for ね in the party example lol

I watch a lot of anime and play a lot of JRPG's with the Japanese audio and the two combined have helped me understand what the actual translation is. Not that I don't always trust the localizers, but it's nice to understand the literal meaning of the language.

these videos are incredibly helpful, thankyou for uploading them. some of the most difficult things as a beginner have been a lack of "why" for using certain words and especially particles, and you do an excellent job of not only spelling that out, but also providing comparable english context for comparison.
I also really appreciate your slow and articulate delivery. listening to examples of native japanese dialogue, it is spoken so lightning fast, seemingly without word breaks, that it is very difficult for a beginner to even parse which words are being spoken, let alone what they mean

Thanks for taking the time to do these lessons, Andy! I've had the Genki 1 book for about 2 years but I just couldn't seem to go through it on my own. These videos are a huge help!!

So glad I found this content, I've learned a lot of Japanese in 2 videos, thanks man, and as a Brazillian, I was surprised to see that NE has the same use in Brazillian Portuguese and Japanese, it's the exact same thing, we also use in Portuguese to seek agreement or confirmation, the pronunciation in Portuguese is a bit more open but anyways that makes it easier to remember how to use it since it's the same as my native language, Japanese is awesome.

I can't thank you enough for these amazing videos you are doing.
I've had highschool online classes in Japanese but I learned next to nothing in comparison to a quality subscription based Japanese learning app a year back before it became unavailable in the general region I live in. A year later after highschool I decided to pick back up Japanese and bought Genki. I decided instead of college I would learn on my own like others and pass at least the JLPT 4 and to hopefully be proficient enough to get translation jobs. After highschool I found you and have learned at a pace I've never been able too before. Thank you so much.

These videos are a great supplement to my Jpn class. Thanks for providing them freely, it clarifies so much material that I struggled with thanks to not having in-person classes during COVID.
