Haha I wish I had a bookstore like that on my commute! I always buy books when I travel - local books by local authors in local languages. I’d just go to that bookshop every week, probably. I’m looking forward to your Wind and Truth review! It’s a big one.
I love that frog bookmark. I hope it will be a loyal reading companion in December! Looking at my reading goals, I still need to read Mistborn Era 1 this month - but with everyone reading Stormlight, I just feel so behind now. xD Happy reading!
That’s a great goal! I’m hoping to read at least 3 books before Father Time knocks on the door and says “hi, how are you? It’s been a while, 365 days to be exact, guess what……it’s, well, it’s, its a new year” - wish me luck
I've just hit my goal of 30 reads this year. That's about average for me. The latter half of 2024 I think I've experienced a bit of burnout. Also, I finished Realm/Elderlings in July, and since then it's been tough trying to find that book to match the level of immersiveness (if that's not a real word, it is now...)
The US covers of the Stormlight Archives are so much more colourful than the UK ones. I'm jealous. I try to get all the books I'm reading finished by the new year which normally leads to me cheating and only reading really random short books in December.
Far be it from me to say you're setting yourself up for failure!! In all seriousness though, I've gone through a lot of like, very deliberate adjustment of my reading habits. Not because of goals, like scheduled books per month or whatever, but because reading a lot is good for my mental health. And I can say that if you wanna read more, it's really about making time and committing to a schedule. That's not for everyone, of course, and everyone should spend their time in ways that make them happy :)

I'm also starting Wind and Truth (but on audio). I'll probably be done with it in February 😂

35? I don't pay more than 15 for a book, usually below 10...
But good for you!
neither do I…. It was very out of character
