I can not believe we are actually in Madagascar. We've been looking forward to this country for a very long time and it did not disappoint.
As soon as we arrived in Antananarivo, or as locals call it "Tana" we were in awe of what a unique and special place this is. We took a 5 hour, super bumpy car ride to Andasibe to get into the jungle. We stayed at Mantadia Lodge. mantadialodge.... In Madagascar you do mostly walking safaris (very different from mainland Africa!) and we were on the lookout for lemurs (114 different species!), chameleons, and other unique animals endemic to Madagascar.

If you are still in Madagascar, there might be seaturtles near Toliara. Baobab alley is also a sight to see near Morondava. Tsingy Forest, Lake Tritriva, and the Rova (or Ambohimangarova) are places to check out too!

I’m not even sure if Dorothy realizes it, but I think it’s hilarious that Cali and Manilla restate the same things Dorothy says, just in a tiny bit different way! As a fellow big sister, I know it’s not always easy but Dorothy sure does a great job at leading her little brothers! 💕
Garrett..you have officially elevated your travel vlogs to art form. Your videos are not only a love song to your experiences and adventures and this great big amazing world that many of us don't get to experience , but they are a love song to your family, a tribute to their growth as travellers and citizens of the world. Keep exposing them to new experiences, new countries, new people and new cultures. Keep pushing them beyond their comfort levels to do more, experience more, be more You're raising three amazing human beings and I'm here for it! ❤❤❤❤❤ P.S. it's hard for me to identify any one part of the video because I love it all, but perhaps when the chameleon was interacting with all of you. Nice, how you are trying to formulate the recommendations in the end….we talked and talked about it as well, after we left. I wouldn’t recommend it to go there as a visitor! I would however recommend it to go there to help the Malagasi, to get to know them and to be a change instead of a viewer. 🙏
I remember you once asked where we'd like you to visit... I wrote down my island... Madagascar... but I would never have believed that one day you would really come here for real... I would have loved to meet you but it's also an honor to know that you loved my country and somehow understood it... the country that upsets you and changes the way you face life.

I know you can’t possibly go through all the comments you must receive, BUT, I am an 80 year old mother, grandmother who has watched ALL of your videos and must tell you, I will be so sad (but I understand) when I no longer have new adventures/videos to watch of you and your family (so I’ll start from the beginning again). One of my “life” wishes is to be ”here” to see where my grandchildren’s life focus is going. And, you and your family…oh how I would love to see where your children are focused in 10 years from now. You are definitely such a unique family, with incredible experiences, all of which are a part of forming us as members of this planet. To see where your children are 10 years from now……
Just spent 6 months living in Madagascar and it was incredible. The people, the culture and the wildlife is all so unique. It most certainly changed my life and I will have many life long friends from my time there and will certainly go back.

Madagascar is my home and this video brings me such joy. I love Andasibe especially the indrindry lemur. The call the make across the canapy is breathtaking. I can also speak the lemur language, ring tails speak in the same way.

Madagascar's jungle is like Mother Nature's wild wardrobe malfunction - a riot of colors, a cacophony of creatures, and a botanical ensemble that screams, 'I woke up like this!' Visited the place few years ago for our TV show episode and the jungle beauty is definitely one of a kind. It's one of the many countries I would find ways to visit all over again.
I love chameleons. There's quite a few in my garden, and I feel blessed that they're there.

I've heard some people find it extraordinarily difficult to be faced with the amount of poverty there, especially the starving and begging children. I wonder how you and the kids found and handled that?
4 things: 1. I totally agree with what you said in the beginning of the video about books…… 2.
