I’ve done this with a few CD based games and there’s something special about playing an exact copy of your old games. Especially if you’re in a PAL region and there’s a few specific local titles that aren’t as common.
You beat me to it I was going to do this because so many have asked me how to do so! I haven't owned a cart dumping tool like this in a long time I know these exist still as you can buy these in multiple revisions from multiple sellers but so cool that there's a more streamline version!
Yes, this is definitely a very streamlined and easy-to-use method :) I've had quite a few different dumpers in the past, but this one definitely makes things a lot easier.
I bought one of these a couple years back. It’s great for dumping games, however, I would caution if you were trying to utilize it to back up N64 saves to use on emulators. I had a ton of trouble getting it to work, in fact, I was never even able to get it to work. I tried a multitude of things. It could’ve been my unit, but I just could not get it to work.
@@Techcravers I tried it with a couple different games, converters, trying to edit hex files. Never could get it to work on an emulator! I kind of gave up. Was looking into possibly getting a RetroBlaster.
Not bad for a how-to on HW3, a bit heavy on the STH marketing but still good. Also, it can be easier! HW5 can be built to only have a power switch with everything else being done for you, it also has support for more systems without using adapters. :3
I have a chinese snes multi cart and for example it includes all the DKC games, does this device work also to backup the saves on this type of carts?

Does dump mean like a cut and paste to the sd card or does it just mean copy and paste to the sd card? I’d sure hate to loose a game on a cartridge
Copy and paste! I’d never teach you how to destroy your games :)
We need something like this for Nintendo DS cartridges
Is there a version of this that lets you dump your switch carts? Or an adapter? The Mig Switch is so shady, won't be messing with that. 🍻

Hi, thanks for sharing. N64 saves can be a bit tricky but it has worked for me (so far).
