I'm a Blood and as a kid I read Monster Kody book I was mad because my hood was in there, and when I started seeing his interviews I amazed and had admired his intellect and gangstaism and by the time I seen his one's with Kev Mac I actually want to me him real talk 😂 this was a episode and that was a great interview of a legend. R.I.P. Monster Kody.✊🏿
I vividly recall reading his book in middle school, which sparked my fascination with the crips and bloods. It's surreal to see many years later and be able to put faces to the names from that book. Big shoutout to Kev Mac, rest in peace to Monster Kody, Pretty Boy, and all the fallen soldiers.

Monster was already a legend in the hood as a teenager. He was good friends with my younger brother from back in the Horace Mann days.

I think monster kodys book turned me into a reader. Monster kodys book was the only book i could digest at first. Then i read a handful of books over the years and monsters book numerous times front to back or just certain chapters

😂 "Precursor to my death" . On another note. Respect to you Kev Mac. Read the book in jail when I was 19 in the UK. It's legendary and gave us our first real insight into La gang Culture outside of Music and Films. At the time i didn't see the real message it's only with age and wisdom I'm understanding the work you guys are doing to create untiy and change the mindset from destruction to positivity.

Great tribute, almost feel like we all posted up around the picnic table at the park telling stories.
I think this was one of the best stories you’ve ever told. Many because a n**a from the street would’ve read your mind the moment you said he wanted to get in the back. No matter what hood you in. Especially a known hitter is telling you this. I understand why you chose the front. The only other option was to tell Cutes you was walking home would’ve made you look weak. I think it was a testament to you being a hood trenches veteran. I also think Monster was testing you. The hood up. The convo he started once you guys got in the road. It could be a variety of reasons why. The man was highly intelligent. I grew up in the 80’s/90’s in NYC. I’ve been around his types. Only give you want you wanna see. Super cool and everything till the sun go down and he’s coming out the cut with a hammer in his hand looking nothing like the man that you as cool 6 hrs earlier.

I remember monster had a TH-cam channel ,he mostly has short vids of him freestyling, or songs with pix of him and his patnas,but mostly alor of pan africanism type stuff ,was interesting ,it was grainy footage like 120 or 240 p off a computer cam if y'all member those,for the life of me I can't remember the name of the channel it was like a low key channel,idk if he deleted it or if still out there

When you tell stories like this, I feel like I’m there…I definitely appreciate you sharing these moments because they not only give me a good laugh but it gives good a look into the personalities of so many people that are only portrayed negatively. Some of the most intelligent, charismatic, to outright comedic personalities come from those places that KevMac brings to light. Its always the negative that gets the spotlight.. and for good reason.
