Erik van Stenis the performance is so similar to the iPhone 6 it’s basically impossible to tell. Especially with iOS 12. While it is faster, they are too similar to release iOS 13 on the iPhone 6 and not the 5s.
Kimberly Meyer go to settings & accessibility go to zoom and set it to full screen and filter low light and then go to the home button triple click shortcut and set it to zoom then any time you triple click it dims the screen. Old trick but it works.
Set triple home button press to smart invert colors. This way, you can basically use it as a dark theme, and if it gets weird, you can easily invert back.

My husband has an iPhone 6 plus and he installed the 13.1 upgrade yesterday. He said the first two times he tried, he got an error saying he would have to reset his whole phone. But on the third try it worked and he has shown me all the new features. I have an iPhone 6C and I am now to scared to try it!

carla gaines it said iOS 13 and in software update and I was surprised because I knew iOS 13 wasn’t on my phone but I got it and it said it would take two days one day later it said I couldn’t get it and I was like ok but two days after that it said the update was finished so I went to setting and hit finish update and I had it but it was so slow but right now my phone isn’t very slow btw but I can’t say how I was able to get it, it was completely random sorry 😐
I've had my 6s since 2016 and only updated till ios 10, didn't want to do anymore because I thought it would make everything slower plus kill the battery faster. I only just updated to ios 13 and holy balls it's pretty great! The phone itself performs amazing, the transitions and everything is smooth. Apple have done an amazing job with this. BUT yes its true about the battery - it drains pretty fast, but thats ok for me for now.
Someone got iOS 6 on the iPhone 5c but there’s no touch. The iPhone 5 and 5c have the A6, but the iPhone 5c came with iOS 7. Also iOS 7 is possible on the iPod touch 4. Matt’s Tech made iOS 7 feel like it was made to be on it.
And about the dark mode, While the long-awaited "Dark Mode" finally appeared in iOS 13, iOS 11 and iOS 12 both have a decent placeholder for it you can use on your iPhone. ... Specifically, it won't reverse images, media, and some apps that use dark color styles already, to quote the settings.
