Very nice project. 👍 Personally I would rather cut off the lid first and then drill the holes using dowel centers. That way the dowel isn't visible on the top side.
@@mist4926 I couldn't find a proper translation; in German they are called "Dübelspitzen". You drill the first hole, then you place the Dübelspitze in it to mark the position of the second hole.

I used epoxy resin to freeze the bark, the fire is used to evacuate the bubbles that come out of the wood
