Fun fact: the original 1984 Macintosh was sold for $2495, which is $7406 in 2024 dollars. So one could say that the Vision Pro is half of the price of the original Mac, which is remembered fondly, but was really a niche product for a long time. It took a while for GUI's to stop being considered gimmicks and enter the mainstream. Perhaps the same will happen with mixed reality/spatial computing.
the hardware cost of AVP is $1528 alone. If you're familiar with other headsets that provide similar resolution specs they exceed the cost of AVP require a tethered PC and and hand controllers. AVP is not for VR gaming at this time, nor is Meta Quest 3 is not for spatial computing. It's comparing apples to oranges.
The way to make it cheaper is to make it mainstream. To make the screens cheaper, increase the yield. The more usable displays you get from a run, the less each display costs. The next version should not only be cheaper, it should be better, with no features. Thankfully, that’s the recent history of technology.
I love the natural, phone shot look of this video. I can feel like i see how yhr vison truly looks like. Thank you dor keeping it natural, i am genuinely genuinely tired of watching high quality videos 😂

me and my friend are going to the apple store in the fashion mall i am planning to buy a 3d printer to try it out or maybe save up for a oculus quest 3 since i want to try it and didn't like the oculus quest 2.
I’m putting this out here for everyone to change perspectives about this. We won’t likely see any advanced AR/VR headset until the next 5-10 years. That’s the thing, you don’t know if you’ll be alive by then. You might end up in an accident or emergency and not make it, you might have a serious health condition emerge within those 10 years. So why wait for something that you’re unsure if you’ll even be alive for? You only live once, make the best out of it and if you’re really interested in this product, by all means spend your money.
While I agree with the idea of enjoying life when you can, I don't think that we won't have advanced AR/VR for the next 10 years. Apple and others have put billions of dollars into R&D for AR/VR technology and if you think they won't make a second generation and then third generation of this headset soon after spending so much investor money to get the technology. Other companies will reverse engineer the Vision Pro and find ways to circumvent the patents as companies always have. We will most certainly have competitors within the next 2 years.
I just like the multiple screens from the apple vision pro in your video made the apple vision pro seem great as a eternal monitor for work and maybe CAD work or 3D modeling like you said.
The reason most people weren't out walking around with a meta quest is that most people dont recognize facebook as a tech company even though they've owned oculus for a decade now. They also made a public announcement of the metaverse (a still in development concept) and changed their name to Meta to that goal. Meta started this XR craze in big tech by not backing down, keeping it cheap, and selling it all over the place. Apples device is definitely a great start, but both devices are still growing as platforms now.
I disagree with you on almost everything you said and i been using this for a month. It just sounds like you arent the customer for this product and thats fine. Its a luxury computing product. For luxury buyers.
You think the speakers sound better than the airpods lineup? For open air speakers and price tag, I'm gonna double down and say they aren't that great still.
@@DayoAworunse So, not as good as something lodged inside your ear canals but I think they’re plenty loud and deliver really good Spatial Audio. Unless Apple threw a pair of AirPods Pro in the box with the AVP idk how the audio could be better.
@@mrdondre the speakers for open air design sound okay, I definitely wasn't wow'd by any content from an audio perspective. Sure Airpods to open air design is like apple to oranges but majority of customers who purchase AVP probably have every other apple product, which is the only reason why I bring it up and the immersion/experience feels enhanced with them in.
I'd have to disagree with you on the front screen. Someone interacting with you while wearing the headset will need to see a real indication that you see them. Simulated eyes are a great way to do that. They just need to make it more obvious. Flashing LEDs just make it more robot like and too many people already think the device is "dystopian". Of course, nothing could be more "dystopian" than the reality we are living in now. Best!
i agree, but this function can get so expansive i consider it more as a novelty feature rather than an essential one. i bet the "normal" upcoming vision headsets will feature some cost cutting which will certainly cover the external display
@@lvpist Well, cost cutting is important because apple wants to sell zillions of these things, so they definitely will bring the knife. But the "Pro" and "Ultra" versions will probably have some form of "fake eyes". :)
The cost of materials is about $1550. They could have done better with that. They opted to make it out of expensive and heavy materials, which was rather silly.
People say the same things about all of apple products (IT COST TO MUCH!) however what ends up happening is it becomes the leading product in its category! My question is why do people keep saying the same thing about apple products? Remember when people said the iPhone cost to much? Need I say more? 😂
If you think $3,500 to $4,000 most advance device is expensive. Wait until you check $2,000 foldable smartphone that brings more problems than the price 😂
I'm glad you have a sponsor like Nobody to help you pay for an Apple Vision Pro

Theres no way that’s 7x the cost of meta. It’s 1.5x at most.
7x the cost of the Quest 3. 11.5x the cost of Quest 2. 3.5x the cost of the Quest Pro. He's not wrong in saying it's 7x the cost of Meta.
Just the micro OLED displays cost more than the Quest 3. The processors are also quite expensive.

I thank you.
