I hope Kameron has been adopted by now. Wish I lived closer he would fit well into my home, as a single person, and no other kids. Would be fun to have someone around like Kameron. He kind of sounds like me at his age. Kind of shy, not very outgoing, and loves to play old school board games...yep, must be my long lost son I've never had :(. Good luck Kameron, I hope you find your forever home with an awesome family that'll take the time to let you be you.
It's endearing that Kameron plucked up the courage to speak for himself in the hope he gets adopted. He just wants to be loved and grow up as a kid in a family doing the things kids do. I really hope he got his wish and is now living as part of a real family somewhere. There are so many like him that need to be chosen to be adopted. Makes your heart break doesn't it?
What a sweet kid!! I'm getting ready to move to Virginia and I've started to look into fostering. I did it years ago and I loved it! I am now 56yo, single mom of a 24yo. I am an empty nester. I hope I will qualify by the time I get myself set up! ❤❤❤❤❤ my son gave me soooo much joy, I'm not looking for a little baby or even a small child I would rather have a kid 7 years old and up. I think that's where I would be most purposeful of course the rewards are endless!! In the end I would like to adopt if it is a good fit
I was adopted by the time that I was seven months old. Adoption is the only substitute for abortion, it allows the child to become what God intended. It's tough, sometimes, but so worth it.

his personality, kinda reminds me of mine when I was kid... (sometimes it is very difficult for kids in a home care like these. sometimes they find a family, and the family send them back because they no longer want them. people should have less biological children and adopt more.)
Everyone thinks it's as simple as clearing out an extra room in your house. Sorry, not that simple guys. You're going to need to do a home study, probably attend parenting classes, get a foster care license, go through a bunch of interviews, background checks, and whatnot. It's not an impulse decision. You'll need to take them in as a foster placement for at least 6 months. Weekly counseling, lots of doctor's visits, dentist, multiple weekly calls and periodic visits with the case worker, etc. If parental rights aren't terminated then you'll be dealing with them as well. It will take at least 6 months to finalize. Then the hard work starts....healing broken hearts. Is it worth it? Yes...if you and the child are a good match. Absolutely.
Absolutely true... and insane. Especially when you remember the "birth parents" of these kids did nothing but spend a short time in bed to create these angels, then proceeded to ignore them and abuse them, and either gave them up or had them taken away (there are of course other uncontrollable situations, like parents killed in an accident and no other family to take them in). As they hit teen years, few want to adopt them, as most prefer babies or infants. For those who see value in the older children, many are discouraged by the costs and hurdles they face. Why are we so slow in removing kids from bad situations, but treat those who want to help like they are worse than the abusive birth parents, unless they can prove, through a lengthy process, otherwise? In an over abundance of caution, significantly fewer kids are adopted than should be. Meanwhile, the kid's lives are ruined, often further traumatized, as they move from temporary care to temporary care situation until they age out of the system. Then what do they do? Something needs to be done to fix, i.e. simplify the adoption process. With the worsening drug crisis in America, the number of kids entering the system is increasing at an increasing rate, and the problem is only getting worse.

During years, I've dreamed with a kid like him: healthy, handsom, sweet and young. But now I discover _he is real!_ and I feel I'm not prepared to adopt yet. My life is a chaos, I'm an adventurer, I love pizza and junk food while watch the tv, and my dog Óscar sleeps with me and our cat...
I don,t understand why he doesent have his own mum and dad. To me thats very sad. I do hope you go into a good home kameron, and grow up happy.good luck for the future buddy.
When I was a younger man I wanted to adopt. But the agency I worked with was only interested in finding excuses to disqualify me. I knew what they were thinking so I gave up and never tried again. It's been 25 years since that happened. Now I'm too old to help anyone with anything. Thank God they stopped me. 😕 🤷
It depends where you adopt from. In some states they waive all the fees if the child is in the state's care but if they're in a private system it can get pricey. In my state of Idaho at most it will cost you $1,200 to do a home study and everything else is free. In other states it's completely free while in others it's more expensive. It's worth it to investigate. However, adopting or having a kid costs a lot of money so only adopt if you can afford it. Children cost $10,000+ a year in expenses. Food, shelter, toys, school supplies, health expenses, college, etc.
The fact there are children in foster is fucking crazy full stop, why don't the foster parents just keep them? why do people keep having babies when they could just go and adopt a ready made child? CRAZY! CRAZY! BASTERDS! and this is just unbelievably sad 😭😭😭😭

😢 Can a single individual allowed to adopt kids? These kind of things makes my heart and soul ache.
Yes. Singles can adopt,in the US anyway
Yes but I think it's harder.
Good question. It's better to be adopted by a single than stay alone... Here in Colombia that's impossible, you must be married.
