4:13 -- There actually is a zip code 91042. It's Tujunga, California, just north of Burbank. Bill Scott -- who co-produced (with Jay Ward) "Rocky and Bullwinkle" and other cartoon series, and who did some of the voices -- lived in Tujunga. 5:24 -- The "tune" that Fred plays is the same one that comedian Jack Benny would play to demonstrate his "virtuosity" on the violin.
"Super Chicken quickly made a dummy of himself" I laughed at that. Well, I laughed at nearly everything, but that really stood out. Thanks a lot for satisfying my nostalgia.
The funniest gag in this story is where EVERYONE on the street notices "the dummy of The Zipper"...except "Our Hero"! Not to mention the "six 100 pound gorillas"....only Jay Ward could get away with this!!
my all time favorite as a kid. they don't make cartoons like they used to. to this day I still use the line: "you knew the job was dangerous when you toke it!" to my surprise many people don't get it. oh well.
They just did 1 day scene & 1 night scene of the same 2 areas. *Also,* if it went from day to night over only 3 hours, the day scene was colored wrong, as it implied earlier in the day than a 3 hours time lapse to night!
ooh...2:28: there's "4th & Main", according to the street sign there. Well, if this is supposed to be L.A., there's a terrific burger joint right there, called Tony's. Great food, great prices. Mmmm...that place and 88 Burger, down on 7th & Maple are two of the best burger joints I've encountered and they're nothing at all like any of these fast food-type chains. The only one ("chain" and they're pretty small compared with In-N-Out, the only other "fast food chain" that could compare w/the quality of Tommy's; hell, the only Tommy's I can remember is the one on the corner of Hollywood and Bronson, in L.A.). But, no, when in L.A., go out of your way to try Tony's or 88 Burger and you'll be glad you did!!
Movie stars at “hurry up and rescue you”. I make it: John Barrymore Douglas Fairbanks, Sr. Rudolph Valentino Boris Karloff(!? Ward and Scott got a little carried away, there, :b)
Ok, so they track the zipper thru his zip code. But they only know it because they stumbled across his house/castle with the zip code on a large sign over the castle. Briefly, ?????
Hard to say. There was a fair amount of pointless villainy in cartoons then. In another one, ‘Tom Thumb’, about a 6 inch high Secret agent, the chief villains were called M.A.D.. It was explained that they wanted to destroy the world for their own evil ends. Er, what would those be? And where do they then live? (M.A.D. stood for ‘Maladjusted, Anti-Social, and Darn mean.)
lol - "a 'bomb that'll destroy the world'..."; uh, sorry Zipper, you ain't got nuthin' on the US & Russian nuclear arsenals when it comes to destroying the world!

It's amazing that we get so much more entertainment out of these short, 6-minute cartoons than out of today's modern 30-minute episodes.
I LOVE THIS SHOW 😂❤!
Fred , you knew the job was dangerous when you took it.
Awesome writing ... "there's nothing worse than a loose zipper"
Watching this take me back to Saturday Morning Cartoons...
Ross, thanks for the great videos! It is really nice of you to share them with everyone.
Remember this "zipper episode" and so happy it was posted! Plus the theme song from Super Chicken......Love it!
"Super Chicken quickly made a dummy of himself" I laughed at that. Well, I laughed at nearly everything, but that really stood out. Thanks a lot for satisfying my nostalgia.

“The news spread like peanut butter!”
On tv: ‘peanut butter?’
Trippy stuff.
That moment makes me laugh more than it probably should. Along with the bit about the "Six 100 lb. gorillas and the One 600 lb. gorilla" .
*Innocent bypassers:* A Zipper dummy
*Super Chicken:* Aha! The Real Zipper!
@@lordbarristertimsh8050: That "Hold it! Not 6 100 lb gorillas, that's 1 600 lb gorilla!" joke cracks me up more than it should!

Super Chicken debuted on September 5 1967...and the last episode was aired on December 26, 1967.
