you're thinking in the wrong direction with the mushroom here. i think it's more of a family issue in which his mushroom parents and siblings were misstreating it horribly and now after it learned magic it's killing them all. perhaps even the whole mushroom village was in on it, except that cute innocent mushroom girl that always felt bad about him being misstreated but never actually did anything to help him. he raises his mushroom arms glowing with purple death magic but then stops, showing her that letting bad things happen is almost as bad as doing them but he still spares her because she didn't think he was worth to be fought for and he shows her like that, that she isn't worth the mana for the spell.

I've seen a lot of comments pointing out the first missed defile but none so far that correct the second poor defile play. That last defile at 13:33 could have been done better. I understand he was under a lot of pressure and the turn timer was limiting, but I'm just saying that there was a better way to do it.
Damaged Doomguard to Crypt lord (2 health Crypt, 5 health doomguard)
Voidwalker to Crypt Lord (1 health Crypt, 2 health void)
Defile (Kills all but the full health doomguard.)
Smack face, play cube on doomguard.
Sacrifice the cube and smack face twice more. (Enemy hero at 9 health)

That was the very first solution I saw, and was thinking that I made a mistake since Toast did not see it. It looked too obvious. Then I stopped the video and checked my calculations again and was correct. That was a really difficult one to miss, but Toast managed to... :D

For the defile around 9:30, he could have triple hit all voids into a taunt and hit the tar into the taunt as well. That gives a two and three ones. He hits oakheart into a different taunt for a 3, then hits the 2/1 into another taunt for a 4, giving him a full clear.

a better defile would have been to hit the 6 hp doom guard and a void walker into the crpyt lord to make a 1 hp, then hit with void walkers into a scarab to make a 2 hp minion. then defile and you're left with a 1 hp doom guard left which you can hit face with and cube.

9:27 hit one scarab with your libraian and 2 of your voidwalkers and you have a 2 health minion.. you already hit one of them with oakheart so that would be your 1 health minion..

Oakheart into a scarab nets you your 1hp and 3hp
Librarian into a second scarab gets you your 4 hp
Running the the tar creeper and three voids into a third scarab get you a 1hp and 2hp minion. The jade is your five and one of the last scarabs was the 6 .
Doesnt matter bc toast still reeled in the win at the end :)

How can a skull pull out a Rin the Disciple after I already silenced and killed it? This happened to me the other day. If there are no demons in the hand, does it generate a demon automatically?

With your endgame defile you could have instead hit the 5/6 and a voidwalker into the 1/7, which would have left you with a 5/1 on the board to cube

He could have used defile at 9:09. His 5/5 attacks a taunt giving you 5/3 and a 2/1 (taunt). All his taunts attack a different enemy taunt minion giving you 2/2 enemy taunt minion. His 2/1 attacks a different taunt minion giving you a 2/4 enemy taunt minion. That would clear the board.

He could have attacket the 1/7 taunt with the doomguard then used 2 defiles and the board was cleared except one of HIS doomguards1
9:20 Toast if ur reading this, I'm about to tell u what u should have done.
1. Hit Oakheart into the scarab on the far left. Oakheart is ur three health minion.
2. Hit that tiny kobold dude into the second scarab from the far left. Bringing down the scarab to 4 health
3. Hit two voidwalkers into that 4 health scarab. That scarab is now ur two health minion. The voidwalkers that u just used have become ur one health minions, compensating for the lost kobold.
4. Hit the tar lord and the remaining 3 health voidwalker into the scarab in the middle bringing down the scarab to 4 health, which will act as ur 4 health minion.
If u have followed these instructions carefully, you should have ended up with a board that looks like this:

3 3 1 1 1
NICE! The hit from Oakheart into the scarab was not needed, but its amazing u figured out how to do it without the use of any other cards.
Sure you say that when your watching a video you can easily pause to take all the time you need to figure it out, not so easy when your in the middle of the match :P

From what I see, it always had 2. in the first game, he kept it in his hand and the other was in the deck. he played it and then drew another one
