Hi Becca! First if all congratulations! You will have a blast!
We hired a planner and they helped us a lot with the destination wedding details and the trends going on. Ours was Z&Z designs (IG: zandzdesigns) and we had calls with them to share pinterest boards and ideas we had. Based on the requirements and budget they helped us narrow vendors and even negotiate on some of the details.
Hire local when you can. Our photography team was from Goa and that helped keeping the cost down since accomodation wasn't needed for local team. They did such a good job. (IG: thepicturepatchindia)
The cab situation in Goa is terrible. And costly. So apart from hiring cabs for guest checkin and checkout, we decided to
keep 2 car with us throughout. In case, a guest needs to go somewhere.
With destination wedding, not everything you see when planning will be available at the location or match in quality, so being flexible helps. And the evolving plans make for very good stories. 😁
