The upper Columbia River supports healthy populations of both Walleye and Lake Whitefish. I went out to try some jigging after a clear and full moon night. Despite the odds the fishing was fairly consistent and I caught fish on a variety of lures.

Thank you again for the valuable insight Tyler.
Awesome video! I went and caught a few rocky's last week. Smoked em up and made some dip! Under-rated fish for sure! I like the fight too.
Watching you fish while the snow is beautifully falling. Will be awhile for soft water here hahaha. ❤️✌️👍
Never caught one or tasted one some day. Thanks for the video
Awesome video! Good times
Great video, as usual! Whitefish are criminally underutilized in WA, such good eating.
People are willing to get stuck on an ice floe for those white fish in WI every year.
It seemed like the Whitefish put up a pretty good fight. I’ve never caught one but it’s on my bucket list. Cool video!
They do!
I'm sure you covered it, but what pound test and what brand line do you recommend for vertical jigging?
What do you feel is the best moon phase for walleye? I have my opinion but would love to hear your thoughts. Might make a great video covering that subject. Love the content, it’s great how you break things down and pass on knowledge!
always WOW.
Wow, fished there like 15-20 times and never got a whitefish. I was there 3 weeks ago, much colder plus ice in the morning, managed to get only one walleye. In November, when temps were 44 I got my limit in both days by noon.
Where you finding all that blue sky?
Just had to watch lol.
Those were some good looking whitefish! The pdl drive sounded noisy in this video, would hate to see a bearing go out on it and leave you paddling that beast of a kayak.
New camera and mic. The salty 120 PDL is probably one of the best paddling pedal kayaks on the market anyways

Are those white fish the same as the ones in the Great Lakes?
Yes
Really enjoyed the vid and comments. Please what is the rod and reel?
Rod setups linked in the description
I may be wrong but TH-cam maybe removing your links@@spiltmilt because I don't see a link. Again thanks
Thanks for another great video.
I saw in another comment that you canned some of the whitefish. I got a pressure canner last year and canned some salmon and I look forward to trying shad this spring. I just added garlic and jalapeno to the half pints and it turned out perfect for sandwiches. Do you smoke the whitefish first or otherwise do anything special with it? I’m hooked on canning because it’s so convenient and tasty! Hank Shaw’s canned venison spaghetti sauce recipe is excellent.
I don’t smoke it but have more coming on this topic soon
@@spiltmiltCool. I look forward to it.
How do you adjust your sonar to see your jig at the bottom and near fish?
Max sensitivity and I can manually adjust the angle on the transducer. However, I cannot see Walleye on the sonar as they hold so tight to the bottom.
@@spiltmilt Thank you, Tyler. I'll give it a try. I appreciate all of your knowledge you share.
Do you have any info on the kayak please.

@@spiltmilt cheers dude.
@spiltmilt how are those dry suits for pedaling?
Do you still do ok targeting Kokanee when it’s cold out?
Of course year round
There might be a state record Whitefish in that pool. If your into that sort of thing. By the way, how will you cook the Whitefish?
I made a fillet-o-whitefish sandwich with them that turned out superb. I canned the rest
@spiltmilt sounds tasty. If herd, they can be a little strong when they have been eating salmon eggs. Those whites looked super healthy!
Do you ever catch bass at those depths?
No
👍
Nice
U above Hunters?
no
Thx
How heavy of weight
Weight of what?
@@spiltmilt how much weight do you use on the line 1 oz 2 oz?
Or maybe the weight of the spoon or jig?
