A lot of my reborn dolls are knock-offs, but they look pretty good for the price. I am aware that they are not custom made and not the true thing. I recently just bought a reborn blank kit from Bountiful Baby which has a COA sticker on the certificate. I have the Johanna Awake kit. Unpainted.
I have a large family of “knock off” Maggis AND Suesues and they are gorgeous. Absolutely beautiful. They all looked like their pictures. Your snobbery is laughable.

I think the people who buy these dolls are more important than where the doll comes from. It's also a cheaper version, which is why it's sold for less. It's not the exact copy, I just can't imagine going to a person with a disability and telling them their doll is fake and they shouldn't be able to get it. That's just really mean.
There are knock off that are actually the exact same sculpt as original, in size, proportion and detail…this one just happened to be a remake in a smaller size…
I did see this doll on Amazon. I believe it said 3 yrs and up, so clearly made for children to play with. I would not want to see small children play with a real, genuine reborn at those thousand or more dollars. The adult collector would be more choosy. I bought gifts, and the only two I would buy from on Amazon is Aori and NPK brands. Those seem to be highly rated and better made than most. (Correct me if I'm wrong) Oddly enough my doll collection is mostly pre-loved children's dolls, which I restored myself to look like new. When and if I decide to buy a real artist made reborn, there will be much research done to find the real artist, and no rip offs that cost a lot. Thank you for your comparison here and it does help others to learn about the scams from China.
The first doll I bought was a knockoff, because I didn’t know better (full body silicone for $40 sounded reasonable at the time!). It was a somewhat plastic feeling doll that smelled strongly, and after I saved up and bought a real reborn, the smell difference was very noticeable. I ended up throwing her away because I’m very sensitive to chemicals and there are no assurances that the knockoffs aren’t using toxic materials.
If you want assurances look for a CE mark. However Reborns are a mix-media, so there are absolutely no assurances that a Reborn doll is made of all non-toxic materials. There is no board that governs nor certifies Reborn artist nor limits them to mediums. Such a board would be an infringement on artistic expression. If you want assurances a mass produced product manufactured toy for children like Berenguer (just as an example made in Spain) would come with the most stringent assurances of safety for both materials and construction. They are governed both by the U.S.A Consumer Product Safety Commission mandatory safety rules and regulations under ASTM F963, as well as Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Toy Safety under ASTM International (as in import), AND from European regulations i.e Toy Safety Directive 2009/48/EC. And as I stated before look for the CE mark on a NEW product. Anything on the secondary market could have been adulterated by an artist. That CE make on a NEW product is the best assurance you can get. That said, silicone is safe, nontoxic inert and if you try to adulterate it, the stuff disintegrates into an oily goo, and that is the best assurances you get that any solid full body silicone doll is nontoxic. It might not be the softest squishiest, most wonderful silicone you ever beheld but it won't harm you either. Plus, as an artist myself (not a reborn artist just like painting, drawing, etc) I hate to see art get stolen because art takes so much time and if you spent all this time on a beautiful doll then to have it be ripped off, it most likely would make you feel horrible. I have now decided to repaint my fake doll myself and try to make her into a decent doll but there is no way I would ever say she was the real kit cause she ain’t. Anyway, I now have a paradise galleries doll that I named Luna and I’m looking forward to finally be able to save up enough money for an actual reborn doll.

sculptors actually use the same limbs for kits. The little one is a knockoff, but that is a Maggi kit, the big one you have is a suesue kit. Even if you buy an authentic Maggie kit which should be 22 inches, the limbs will be the same as suesue.

This is a really helpful video. I was looking at these dolls on Amazon. I'm thinking twice about ordering one now. They are cute but not as nice as a real reborn doll.
They don't look the same simply because they are two different reborn kits but both by the same artist Natali Blick. The real reborn is "Sue-Sue", the fake one is "Maggie."
While this is true, the sue sue and Maggie kits both have the exact same body and limbs, just different heads. Obviously these bodies are also nothing like the original.
I would never buy a knock-off reborn, i think it's terrible that the artists sculpts have been stolen. I also understand that people want reborns and don't have the money for an original but to me that is wrong. I had to do my own research and look for what i wanted. i think people don't realize the dolls are individual works of art that won't be found on amazon or other places that sell fake dolls.

I think this knock off is really cute. You have to remember these are a lot lesser quality then the original and you are paying much less. Many people want a reborn but cannot afford the original so these dolls are a good choice. If I bought a original and paid a lot of money and it was the knock off quality I would be very upset but for the price of the knock off dolls I think they are a good deal if this is what one wants until maybe they can afford a original.

But in addition to hurting artists, knockoffs use toxic materials that can make you sick, especially if you handle them a lot or give them to children. Legit artists and collectors attest that Paradise Galleries and Ashton Drake don’t do this. Their dolls are cheap because they are mass-produced, not hand-painted, so you won’t be getting the same quality. However, they don’t steal sculpts or use dangerous materials. So if you’re on a budget that’s what I recommend. I love my Paradise Galleries doll

To start with they are TWO ENTIRELY DIFFERENT SCULPTS ... So to have a FAIR review they need to be the EXACT SAME SCULPTS ... Just kinda saying what nobody else will
I understand what I am trying to show is the Maggi and sue sue bodies are the exact same on both kits the only differences is the head she uses the same body on both of those original kits. This one is half the size

AND on the video you compared FACES and expression that can not be fairly compared without the exact same knock off sculpt. I've often thought that some reborn infants have way too much hair for a baby so new. She is cute ,though. It's baby with a Maggie Head (Toddler Doll) to me.
I make reborn babies myself and weight them using Silicone Pads, Premium soft polyfil, the cheaper common one as well. with the glass beads in each limb.
I think she is a cute baby doll. Definitely, not a toddler! I don't like that the Sue Sue limbs were stolen and made much smaller. The face reminds me of the Maggi kit. I don't like that the Maggi head was stolen and made smaller. There is way too much hair for a newborn and the doll is not of good quality. I kept waiting for her head to fall off. Obviously, this is a fake. It's sad that artist have had their work stolen. ☹

I can’t afford those 3K dolls but you kniw what if they’re going to sell a low grade version of something some people who want a baby or miss having one to snuggle then at least have the decency to show what they’re really selling. I have infertility and I adopted my child who was almost 2 and missed the newborn phase. I’m looking for a look alike but I don’t want to pay $200 for something that I can get for 1.25 at the dollar tree or Walmart js silicone vs vinyl vs fake vinyl are are all different. So thank you for your honesty bc I’d be sad and kinda hurt too. That doll is “aight” but I’d be pretty disappointed too. And people selling true silicone babies that are incredibly realistic need to realize we are all not billionaires
Same! I bought a bunch of cute ones from amazon! I look at reviews first from actual people. The Adolly reborns are a great brand! I had a real born skya. Wasn't much different & actually like these better. If you like more weight its easy to add weight yourself also! I watched a lot of unboxing videos of adolly and amazon reborns before hand too.

I ordered a 18inch reborn doll what I received was a 10inch plastic doll from Play pal. She not vinal at all. The picture of they advertised was a very pretty realistic reborn doll 18inces it's not what you get in the picture. There was a news segment about this doll. I saw the doll I bought in the news segment a grandmother had purchased this doll for her granddaughter. She thought it was going to be a cuddle vinal doll. She tried returning this doll and they sent the doll back to her. You have to be real careful of the fake nock offs.
Yes, I have I paid close to $150 maybe 160 $$170 for two but I didn’t see it in time what the doll was gonna look like and I got the second doll and it’s what’s funny as they look exactly alike but nothing like what’s what they look what they were supposed to look like that was really, really frustrating

Enjoy what God provides, and if you really want a reborn or silicone baby, their are those who will make payment arrangements with you and work with you, that's what I did and how I got started, it just takes longer to accomplish goal, but when you get your baby 👶 you will be over the moon, and it also give you time to buy some items for your baby, like diapers bags 🎒, blankets, and time to have a theme. As a gift for a two, three, five or seven year old I don't care if it's a knock off unless the child is extra responsible because that baby will get colored on, experimented on, painted on and taken to the doll salon courtesy of crayola markers and crayons and scissors ✂️ 🎨🖌️. 😆 Nadia is super gorgeous and the knocked is good enough. The fake baby is cute enough for a kid. I appreciate the smaller size for little kids. This is a really helpful video. I was looking at these dolls on Amazon. I'm thinking twice about ordering one now. They are cute but not as nice as a real reborn doll.
They don't look the same simply because they are two different reborn kits but both by the same artist Natali Blick. The real reborn is "Sue-Sue", the fake one is "Maggie."
While this is true, the sue sue and Maggie kits both have the exact same body and limbs, just different heads. Obviously these bodies are also nothing like the original.
i still think all my reborns i have that are fake are very cute.
I would never buy a knock-off reborn, i think it's terrible that the artists sculpts have been stolen. I also understand that people want reborns and don't have the money for an original but to me that is wrong. I had to do my own research and look for what i wanted. i think people don't realize the dolls are individual works of art that won't be found on amazon or other places that sell fake dolls.

@@natalikrissbebi9947 i understand not everyone can afford one. I work and save money for the dolls i have. But stealing sculpts is wrong and the original artist does not get paid for their work. If people want a more affordable doll they can get an Ashton Drake or Berenger doll.

I think this knock off is really cute. You have to remember these are a lot lesser quality then the original and you are paying much less. Many people want a reborn but cannot afford the original so these dolls are a good choice. If I bought a original and paid a lot of money and it was the knock off quality I would be very upset but for the price of the knock off dolls I think they are a good deal if this is what one wants until maybe they can afford a original.
See this is why I haven't bought one... I wouldn't know the difference, and if I bought one that turned out to be fake I'd be so disappointed 😔

I understand what people are saying that the knockoff is still cute and she is. And I can’t afford to spend hundreds or thousands or dollars on a doll either. But in addition to hurting artists, knockoffs use toxic materials that can make you sick, especially if you handle them a lot or give them to children. Legit artists and collectors attest that Paradise Galleries and Ashton Drake don’t do this. Their dolls are cheap because they are mass-produced, not hand-painted, so you won’t be getting the same quality. However, they don’t steal sculpts or use dangerous materials. So if you’re on a budget that’s what I recommend. I love my Paradise Galleries doll
I’m glad you ordered this doll on purpose and didn’t expect a real reborn doll. Anyone expecting a reborn world be very disappointed. She looks like a baby doll. She is nothing compared to your reborn babies.

When you shop on Amazon for newborn newborn toddler dolls you just got to be very careful and you know what to look for and just look at the views but she is cute I think you should keep her

To start with they are TWO ENTIRELY DIFFERENT SCULPTS ... So to have a FAIR review they need to be the EXACT SAME SCULPTS ... Just kinda saying what nobody else will
I understand what I am trying to show is the Maggi and sue sue bodies are the exact same on both kits the only differences is the head she uses the same body on both of those original kits. This one is half the size

AND on the video you compared FACES and expression that can not be fairly compared without the exact same knock off sculpt. I think people are just scared to admit knock offs can be just as beautiful and budget friendly for people on tighter budgets.

I've often thought that some reborn infants have way too much hair for a baby so new. She is cute ,though. It's baby with a Maggie Head (Toddler Doll) to me.

I make reborn babies myself and weight them using Silicone Pads, Premium soft polyfil, the cheaper common one as well. with the glass beads in each limb.
I think she is a cute baby doll. Definitely, not a toddler! I don't like that the Sue Sue limbs were stolen and made much smaller. The face reminds me of the Maggi kit. I don't like that the Maggi head was stolen and made smaller. There is way too much hair for a newborn and the doll is not of good quality. I kept waiting for her head to fall off. Obviously, this is a fake. It's sad that artist have had their work stolen. ☹

I understand the disappointment. I can’t afford those 3K dolls but you kniw what if they’re going to sell a low grade version of something some people who want a baby or miss having one to snuggle then at least have the decency to show what they’re really selling. I have infertility and I adopted my child who was almost 2 and missed the newborn phase. I’m looking for a look alike but I don’t want to pay $200 for something that I can get for 1.25 at the dollar tree or Walmart js silicone vs vinyl vs fake vinyl are are all different. So thank you for your honesty bc I’d be sad and kinda hurt too. That doll is “aight” but I’d be pretty disappointed too. And people selling true silicone babies that are incredibly realistic need to realize we are all not billionaires

Same! I bought a bunch of cute ones from amazon! I look at reviews first from actual people. The Adolly reborns are a great brand! I had a real born skya. Wasn't much different & actually like these better. If you like more weight its easy to add weight yourself also! I watched a lot of unboxing videos of adolly and amazon reborns before hand too.

I ordered a 18inch reborn doll what I received was a 10inch plastic doll from Play pal. She not vinal at all. The picture of they advertised was a very pretty realistic reborn doll 18inces it's not what you get in the picture. There was a news segment about this doll. I saw the doll I bought in the news segment a grandmother had purchased this doll for her granddaughter. She thought it was going to be a cuddle vinal doll. She tried returning this doll and they sent the doll back to her. You have to be real careful of the fake nock offs.
Yes, I have I paid close to $150 maybe 160 $$170 for two but I didn’t see it in time what the doll was gonna look like and I got the second doll and it’s what’s funny as they look exactly alike but nothing like what’s what they look what they were supposed to look like that was really, really frustrating

Everyone makes a knock off. It is what it is. I buy mine from an artist because I can afford to and I want the realism. I want to bug my niece an Amazon doll to see how she feels about this. If she likes dolls that are more life like (I’m going to adjust the body for a more life like feelings for her first) I’ll buy her a true reborn

On Adolly! She is about 90-150$ so pretty reasonable! I have an adolly reborn and he’s gorgeous! Just because he’s a knock off doesn’t mean that he works any different! :)

i have a knock off reborn that i got for 92 Dollars on Amazon and i still treat her like a real reborn and the only reason i got it was because i could never get enough for a real reborn
Unless i know the artist personaly i wouldnt risk high prices At least with a manufacture you can return it for a refund Not so easy with an artist

Enjoy what God provides, and if you really want a reborn or silicone baby, their are those who will make payment arrangements with you and work with you, that's what I did and how I got started, it just takes longer to accomplish goal, but when you get your baby 👶 you will be over the moon, and it also give you time to buy some items for your baby, like diapers bags 🎒, blankets, and time to have a theme. So enjoy your baby you have.

As a gift for a two, three, five or seven year old I don't care if it's a knock off unless the child is extra responsible because that baby will get colored on, experimented on, painted on and taken to the doll salon courtesy of crayola markers and crayons and scissors ✂️ 🎨🖌️. 😆 Nadia is super gorgeous and the knocked is good enough. The fake baby is cute enough for a kid. I appreciate the smaller size for little kids. Adults might also want the knock off because gas prices high, food prices high, everything in this pandemic is high might as well buy what you can afford to have.

I have quite a few knock off dolls. Actually I only have two real real reborn dolls. Which I painted myself because I can not afford a real one painted by a good painter. I’m just saying some people can’t afford real dolls. I know they are not as good but that one actually looked ok.
