I'm so psyched to find out that it's possible (and affordable) to DIY a grooming van. I was really dismayed by the $70,000+ price tag on USED grooming vans ... thankfully I have a network of handy people who can help me with the electrical and plumbing etc. aspects of doing one myself. For the first time I feel like this dream of mine is actually a real possibility! Thanks for sharing yours!

Nice job and I like the layout. One safety item I did not see though. After almost 17 years of communicating with mobile groomers I would like to pass on one safety caution so your dream keeps working great for you. I didn't see a carbon monoxide detector in the work area. With any generator powered van (especially rear entry mounted like yours) it is surprising how easy carbon monoxide can get into the work space. They are only $20 and hang it about midway up the way anywhere where it won't get soaked in water. I would also put on in the back area just in case CO accumulates back there. Happy mobile grooming!!!

Can't Agree with you more, safety is #1. Since April of 2015, & many generator break downs, we plug into clients homes instead of using a generator. When we DID have the generator, not only did we open BOTH doors, but had 2 carbon monoxide detectors. We find now it's not only cheaper overhead, but quieter, and cleaner for the environment! HAPPY GROOMING!

Good question. I know the tub is 46inch in my van. If/when I upgrade, I recommend a stainless steel tub.
