I never throw away Screws. I have a Box with all kinds of Screws. I have another channel that I just added in Dec of this year. I am going to fix, and build things.
So good hearing from you! I know what you mean, I keep screws as well. LOL I’m sure you’ll have a blast building and fixing things! What is your new channel? Have a great year! Regards from Florida, Jay
Thank you so much for taking your valuable time making these videos. I truly enjoy watching your videos; you explain things so clear and effective that the new person without electronic background can understand and not get overwhelmed.
I am happy and glad that you enjoy watching and learning. Thank you very much! I really appreciate your time taking time to send me such a uplifting comments. I am doing this as a hobby with no electronic background, trying my best to create detailed videos to encourage others without electronic background that are new to this hobby so they can understand and not get overwhelmed. So happy to know that is working for you. Have a good day! Regards, JZ
Another nice repair Jay. Always interesting to see how you overcome hurdles. Like your idea with the repair with the cord. Thanks for taking the time to post. Tony
Tony, thank you so much my friend. So glad that you enjoy watching this video. Forgot to add the video portion how the cord is connected to chassis, since the factory molded female cord portion plugs into the male section inside the cabinet. My understanding is that Admiral Radio offered this radio in many outstanding colors they all were backlight. Some had clock as well. Good hearing from you my friend. Have a great day. Regards, JZ
Good Work for sure... If you take a piece of plastic, say from a plastic bag used from a grocery store, and tape it, Blue Painters Tape, to the bottom, you could use sink water to clean all those tight spaces in the front speaker grill.. I think the lady will be very happy with her new radio for sure, very kind of you to do that for her.... 🙂 BTW, clever how you edited in that High Fidelity Audio, LOL,, 🙂 Robert, San Diego
Hi Robert, great idea about taping the label on there the cabinet so can clean grill area. So you noticed the Fidelity edit. LOL. That means you really watched the entire video (Thank you for doing that) LOL. After uploading the video the darn TH-cam audited the video and gave me a copyright for one of the very short song. So had to edit that portion using their approved 10 second song or delete that potion. Did not want to delete any video so that is why the fidelity kickin. LOL. Next time I should stay under 10 second song or talk when music is playing, tried that trick for many of my video, talking meanwhile radio playing music, that way you are safe "no copyright" junk LOL. Have a great day my friend. Regards, JZ
Hi Doug, so good hearing from you my friend. I was so supersized when John's daughter brought so many parts, tubes, a couple of tube tester and a few radios for me as a gift. I told her that I would like to fix at list one for her, as my appreciation. She picked this one. It is a beautiful radio, very unique color. Admiral Radio offered this radio in many outstanding colors as you know. Have a great day! Regards, JZ
Hi Ian, you are absolutely correct about that. That what I thought when saw the chassis. My understanding is that Admiral Radio Corporation offered this radio in many outstanding colors they all were backlight. Some had clock as well. Good hearing from you my friend. Have a great day. Regards, JZ
Thank you so much my friend for taking time to message me. As you know Admiral Radio Corporation offered this radio in many outstanding colors. Have a great day! Regards, JZ
@crazylava, just googled and find the picture of your radio. It is a beautiful radio and glad that you like to fix it. Have you had the opportunity to watch this video series on my channel? You radio is AC version like this one that I restored. Do not plug it to electricity since that will damage the tubes or power transformer. Watch this restoration video and hopefully will answer your questions. Let me know if you have any questions after that. th-cam.com/video/tJ0s9mSQu_Y/w-d-xo.htmlsi=WCffXw94Z5HFU5yX
@crazylava1306, this is another AC radio that I repaired which I explained in detail how to test AC power supplier and charge capacitors and some resistors. Hope this repair videos can assist you. Good luck. th-cam.com/video/Nu3bL4x_HWI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=gp3icPLt23vY1jO5

Odd that they would jam everything together on a small vertical board when they had plenty of room horizontally. Thanks Jay.
