To the person who doesn't like this, I am most interested to know if it is it the performance you don't like or the composition itself as well as any reasons.
@@frederickbulsara8141 there simply is no metal at all involved , since they use gut strings !!! that simple fact shows clearly that you do not have much knowledge to really judge and rate this world class string quartet !!!
Haydn had in mind the old austrian tune/song "Gott erhalte Franz , den Kaiser " that is why the quartet is called "Kaiser Quartett" !! Only much later the tune was stolen and abused as the german national anthem ....

How sad that the Nazis adopted Haydn's wonderful tune from this quartet to their national anthem"Deustchland uber Alles"---I can tell you, that would have broken his heart as this tune was one of his favorites(Written for Emperor Franz---"God bless Emperor Franz" was the original title) Haydn deserved better than that.

Personally, i dont like the metallic sound of the instruments used. I presume they're using period instruments
Do you have a favourite quartet?
im not a huge fan of the quartet but i like Beethoven's quartet 12 in E flat and the Grosse Fugue
I'll be trying it out. Thanks

The first and second violins alternate lines so smoothly in the Finale, especially around 26:35 at measure 100.
Good heavens - I'd no idea Haydn wrote Deutschland Uber Alles! (well, the tune)
He wrote the melody, but I'm sure he would have been horrified at how it was abused by the Nazi movement.
I'm sure he would too.
