Turns out, this is the best way to explore Koh Phi Phi Islands Thailand !
Koh Phi Phi Island Thailand has always been on my bucket list. Like many others, it’s because of the movie The Beach Leonardo Dicaprio.
Maya beach has always been my dream destination. And eds, well he’s always wanted to board a pirate ship. So today, our dreams will come true here in Koh Phi Phi Thailand
We hop onboard Phi Phi Pirate Boat. To explore the famous Thailand island and PhiPhi island white sand beach. So join us in this beach vlog, as we make our way to the most famous Thailand beach in Koh Phi Phi 2024.
Join us as we travel Thailand and experience the many things Thailand famous for. This is our first time in Thailand and we are so excited to find out, is Thailand everything we hoped? I guess we’ll find out as we continue our Southeast Asia travel and explore Thailand first time.

Can you compare Maya Beach to El Nido or Balabac? Which is more worth visiting?
Hi glen! That’s a very interesting question. All of them are soooooo different. It wouldn’t be fair to compare them just by “looks”, because for all of them, the overall experience is what makes the trip so worth while.
El Nido - while it is beautiful, I find it to be too cramped. The water situation is also not ideal. I definitely prefer phi phi islands over el nido any day. I like the vibe of phi phi islands more.
Balabac - STUNNING. But is farther and more difficult to get to. You’re also up against the weather so much that your trip will never be guaranteed. But we really loved it there and to this day still the best beaches we’ve been to. It’s very limiting though. Since it is so raw and non-commercial, you have to plan your trip very carefully. The key to a great experience here is a good tour operator.
Maya Beach - the overall experience of being in Maya Bay and Phi Phi islands is just wonderful. There are a lot of tourists, yes. But the sense of freedom you get from being in these places is unreal. Very easy to DIY. We especially loved the pirate boat.
Balabac is a must for sure especially if you’re into “raw adventures”. Maya beach (the pirate boat experience specifically) is a must especially if you’re in Thailand anyway. We really loved both experiences for completely different reasons 😝
