    Having lived in Thailand for 9 years, and stayed in many different levels of hotels and resorts, I'm sure travellers will find these reviews very useful. It's a good idea to mix them up to balance your budget and help others, so thank you. Aircon is so important. And this guesthouse definitely offers great value. I also just want to say that we loved those bidet sprays so much that when we left Thailand to return to the UK we bought 3 of them to install in our house! Local expats generally call them b*m guns!! 😂 Enjoy! Stay safe and have fun being out of your comfort zone. Much enjoying sharing your travels. Kapun kap.. 🙏🤗

      Thanks Julian- we did not appreciate how important AC was to us until we tried to go without it...more of that in a future episode🥵 We absolutely agree! Likewise we are getting used to the "b*m guns", but it takes a bit of time getting out of a 53 year old habit😂
      We are loving the variety of accommodation we are finding and the people that we are meeting along the way. Everyone is so kind🙏
      Thanks for the comment👍

      Thanks Jan- we were genuinely surprised at the value of it. It did have really good reviews on Booking.com and also Google, but you never know how accurate they are. The staff we just so lovely and helpful.
      Have a good week👍

    Really enjoying this series. Always look forward to your next video to see how your trip is going. I think you're amazing for sticking to your budget. Thanks for taking us with you on your trip. From Ciara in Ireland (soon to be early retired!)

      Thanks Ciara- we are really glad that you are liking the series. It has put us completely out of our comfort zone, but we are loving that and it has opened our world for potential future travel.
      It’s a big old world out there and our bucket list just keeps getting bigger. A nice problem to have!
      Good luck with the early retirement plans👍

    What a lovely little place - looks like it fit the bill for what was needed. Richard’s RMS was entertaining as usual!

      Thanks Sharon- it was great and managed to keep us on budget! We think that there could be some classic RMS on this trip😂
      Thanks as always for the support 👍

      Have a great trip - we really enjoyed Kanchaburi, we could have spent another day there as we missed going to the waterfalls and maybe would have gone further into the hills on the railway.

    Lovely Vlog, useful on many levels , I see a future in backpacking reviews coming up ! Haven’t been to Thailand for a couple of decades but lovely to hear its famous hospitality is unchanged. If I have one question, it is, given you have no ‘homebase’ how has this felt compared to your familiar travels with Nelson ?

    • @earlyretirementwanderlust
      @earlyretirementwanderlust  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for this Adam- great question! I think that we can be honest and say that it has put us out of our comfort zone. When we are in Nelson, he is our home from home, wherever we are. We know that we always have that haven of normality to come back to. Jackie in particular has missed this when we are backpacking on the road. It is particularly evident when we are travelling to new places and we are not sure of the logistics or secure travel arrangements. In Nelson, it's really easy- we can just pull over and we have a place to sleep. Not as easy with only a backpack in strange locations.
      We are getting used to it, and we know it is making us better people as a consequence of this. It is really improving our confidence in situations unknown.
      Hope this answers your question?
      Have a good one👍

    Thanks for the review. Would be great to hear about internet speeds as you travel for those of us who need to do a bit of work while away.

      Thanks for the suggestion - we will include it from now on as it is definitely something that people want to know - I can’t believe we hadn’t been including it!! The WiFi here was ok for browsing the internet but we couldn’t upload videos - we had to hotspot to our phones 😊

    We stayed in a hotel room in the Solomon Islands the nights following on from Prince William and Kate staying there….as we opened the door a huge cockroach ran under the bed! The room was beautiful and spotless but we accept that tropical locations have these ‘visitors’ sometimes 😜

    • @earlyretirementwanderlust
      @earlyretirementwanderlust  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The beautiful place we had in Florida came with the odd cockroach🪳 hazard of tropical life!!

    Think we’re going to see epic Rate my Shower scores in the coming weeks, any deductions or additions for specific animal species in the shower😂

      🤣 we have certainly experienced some shower situations that are on the lower end of the scale shall we say!!

    What is " length of push " out of interest ?

    • @earlyretirementwanderlust
      @earlyretirementwanderlust  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      On many UK campsites you have a push button for water which sometimes can last as little as 5 seconds. Most of our reviews are usually of campsites when travelling in our campervan 😊
